Thoughts at home-waxed bottles

    Ok so to get it out of the way, I know that there is no real consensus on if waxing the bottles you age actually makes a difference, but that is not what this is about. What I am wondering, is would it be a turn off in a trade? I have thought about waxing a few of the bottles in the cellar, but down the line I may end up trading them. I guess what I'm looking for is opinions on how you would feel is a home-waxed bottle is offered in a trade. Would you be ok with it? Indifferent? Against it? I know some brewers use certain wax colors to denote year when they wax, and obviously that would have to be taken Into consideration. Thoughts of the community?

    If I received a home-waxed bottle I wouldn't care. If I did care, I would remove the wax. Then I would feel better.

    I wax all the caps before I ship.

    I figure it may help if the bottle wants to leak in transit as well or better than tape.

    I have never had any complaints ( at least that anyone decided to tell me about )

    i'm going to go ahead and hope that 99% (if not 100%) of beer traders care about what's in the bottle more.

    if you sent me, say, a few zombie dusts as extras, but had scrawled "FUCK YOU!" with a sharpie across the labels and waxed each of them (plus taped bubble wrap on top), i'd be happy that i got some zombie dust.

    I think there was a sizable thread on this recently...

    My only concern is it being done poorly and causing caps to rust. Otherwise I don't really care.
