Just went to the opening of the Grand Rapids Brewing Company and the place itself is awesome. The food that I did try was as expectedly great. Kind of had this outdoorsy feel to everything. The beer was slightly mediocre. I guess for opening beers they were kind of the safety scissors of beers and nothing too exciting. The Fish Ladder IPA was my favorite of the night, but I hope to see a lot more from this brewery and hope that they maybe push for a lil stronger type of beers. Anyone else go and thoughts ?

Just got back from there. We ordered the flight of the beer that they were trying so hard to push on everyone. They were all ok. I'm sure it'll take just a little time but I love the location. During the cold months it'll be awesome having it right next door to the VanAndel arena for Griffins games! Other than that I'm sure there will be a time when their beers are more refined. I'll probably wait a couple months before I go back to try it, especially with Founders and HopCat around the corner.

I just went there on Sunday before a Griffins game. GR Brewing Co. is a real cool place. The food was excellent and the Beer I thought was real good. I had 2 beers there the Hefeweizen and the Bliss Blonde Mango, Both were very good. A friend of mine had the Fishladder IPA and I tried it and I thought it was very good. I don't usually like the IPA's and I know the next time I go I will order one.

Food was outstanding when we went. Service was great and their beers were pretty good. I really enjoyed the stout. The mango beer was good. I imagine given time their beers will get even better but in the meantime I will continue to support them by eating/drinking there.

I still haven't been there yet but really looking forward to it. There are so many breweries I still have to check out around GR--not a bad problem to have!

Posted my review here, surprised no one else has. All around bad ass place with a really cool vibe. Beer was solid but nothing that blew me away.
