loved what I've been able to try from MBC.
the Lunch and Mean Old Tom were my favorites.
the price keeps me from drinking them as much as I'd like.
If I see ones I haven't had at the bottle shop I'll pick it up to try it.
Worth trying at least once if you can.

Being a local guy, I support MBC quite frequently as I enjoy all of their offerings. I will agree with most of you here however; the prices are a bit high. Even here in Maine, their bottles go for around $7. When I'm out in San Diego, I can pick up Pliny for around $5, same size bottle...

Are you sure you acquired Dinner? I didn't think they were distributing that anywhere.

On a website where people spend hundreds of dollars shipping beers from point a to point b (not to mention the time, gas/driving, etc of acquiring beer), I always get a kick out of those who complain that Maine stuff needs to be $1 cheaper.

The limited MBC I've had is fantastic, and worth the "outrageous" price.

For me, MBC is on par with The Bruery.

Amazing products, ludicrous price tag considering the other, equally good or better options out there.

I was quite fortunate to vacation in Portland, and went to Maine Beer Co. the day of a Lunch bottle release (early January). Incredible IPA on tap, and I personally think Mean Old Tom is one of the best American Stouts (not double or coffee), but the prices all really bothered me. $6 for a pint bottle is obscenely over priced even for the great quality, this isn't a BBA stout or thick Barleywine we're talking about! Cripes, there are a ton of other comparable quality beers that range between one-half and one-third of that price!

With that said, if I had access to fresh bottles of Lunch a bit easier than a plane ride to Maine/surrounding area, I'd probably still buy their stuff frequently.

I haven't tried Dinner, and also thought it was brewery-only. B=but everything else I have had from them (Lunch, Mo, Weez, and Zoe) is delicious and very drinkable. I think all their stuff (at least those 4) are in the 7% abv range, which is nice if you are drinking a few.

A couple of observations -- one is that while I am not a "drink while it's fresh" freak, MBC beers seem to deteriorate more quickly than a lot of others, so if you can drink them fresh, do it. The other is that it seems to be a crapshoot what is available -- I was looking for Red Wheelbarrow, couldn't find it, and had to "settle" for Lunch. I know a few places (larger distributors) in the Mid Hudson Valley / Rockland County NY (pretty much walking distance to NJ) that seem to regularly carry their products, but you never know which ones will be available.

I will probably try my first Red Wheelbarrow within the next week, and have King Titus, Tiny Beautiful Something, and Another One all on my shopping list, but am assuming they should all (with the possible exception of King Titus) be consumed pretty soon after purchasing.

For the ones that I've tried, I'd rank them as:

    1) Lunch
    2) Mo
    3) Red Wheelbarrow
    4) Lil' One
    5) Zoe
    6) Weez
    7) Another One
    8) Peeper
    9) A Tiny Beautiful Something
    10) King Titus
    11) Mean Old Tom

They're all really good. I'd also add that draught Lunch is consistently awesome. I've come across a few so-so (fresh) bottles. Also, Peeper is phenomenal with Mexican food.

Great beer, but too pricey to pick up on a regular basis. Havent bought a bottle of MBC in months, they gotta move to 4 or 6 packs at relatively affordable prices.

I was lucky enough to get a bottle of lunch in a trade. I thought it was great.

I've had Lunch, Another One, and Zoe with Peeper and MO in the fridge and Dinner on the way. Everything I have had is outstanding. The price is solid for beers like Lunch and Dinner (I'm assuming) and maybeeee Another One. However, to charge $6+ for 17 oz bottles of their other beers (ambers, pale ales, lagers) is absurd.

My sister returned from a road trip last year with a dozen bottles of craft beer from across her trip, most recommended by staff at local stores as good representatives of their area (and their selections were excellent). It was great trying all of them, but two stand outs were Maine Beer and Nebraska Brewing. I had Maine's 2013 and Red Lawnmower, and despite the fact that they had been in a car for over a month in not ideal conditions, I was very impressed with both. I wouldn't hesitate to get more from Maine, but the drive from Wasihington might not make that possible.

I live on the border of CT where they sell for $7. In NY, I've seen it at 10+ locales and all for $8. Well done beers, sleek bottling, and proceeds support some good environmental causes. So, with that in mind, I generally drink it when it's on tap as it's also $7 for a pint, and a local beer bar has been devoting one tap to them for the past few months.

I have to disagree with all the comments of MBC being overpriced. I think that retailers mark this up considerably which gives this brewery a bad rep. If you are ever lucky enough to get the brews directly from the brewery you are only dishing out $6 per bottle for super fresh, world class beer.

I'm an advocate for MBC. Like said above, the price works out an advantage for me. Where I live majority of people purchase the "light" alternative to beer. So MBC sees more action from me. Their bottled on dates are clear and easily understood. Their labels are simplistic and to the point. I've had all their offerings except Dinner and their Barrel Sour. All their beers are top tier and worth the price, except Mean Old Tom and Lunch. Both were very Underwhelming. MBC is my Goto brewery. I give them two Mugs Up!

Yeah I think I usually see it for $6.99 or $7.99. I'm about half an hour from the NY/Connecticut border and an hour from the NY/NJ border.
