Why would anyone have to justify their actions, confessing here? =D

The way I see it, I have more of a right to consume special release beers and/or determine who should be drinking them than any other consumer or retailer. The best possible outcome for any bottle/can of beer is it ending up in my possession.

My wife has bought a LOT of one bottle limit beers over the years and has yet to drink a single one.

This is one of the only good things wives and girlfriends are good for. Bring 'em with to every 1-bottle-only release, I say! :grinning:

I'd have done the same thing, most likely. I suppose that makes me a douche bag.

    Cheers!

No problem with what the OP did. I also have no problem with people "muling" beers like Cascade Strawberry, which lasted several days/weeks or "muling" beers like Upland Lambics where people pre-pay online and someone goes and picks up the beers then ships them to save someone a long car ride. As far as I'm concerned those are good karma.

Also no worries bringing the wife or a friend if they're into beer. Odds are, if you're like me, you're going to drink those beers with friends or your wife anyway.

My MAJOR beef is with the people pulling the whole "I can't afford to go to ______ but if you send me cash via paypal and let me keep 2 of the 6 bottles, I'll go" crap. If you can't afford to go, don't go - it's not the end of the world if you miss one release. You probably have bigger problems you should be taking care of. As far as I'm concerned, you're a beer *****!

I'd mule the shit out of releases if I could (or ever really went to them) but I don't think I'd be able to find any random non beer fans to come with me really.

You and I need to have a talk about the endless possibilities available to you in regards to the fairer sex. It may involve some photographic slides and carefully selected video clips. You'll want to take good notes.

so, when my husband and i each purchase our allotments at a beer release, we are manipluating the system?
this implies that we should only be able to buy half of the beer that a sinlge person can.

it's like there's no reason to even bother getting married anymore :slight_frown:

Well to be fair my wife has no interest in the beer, she was just getting it for me. In your case it would seem you both are drinkers of said beer so you should each get your share.

I try to keep my wives and girlfriends from knowing the others exist so that plan doesn't sound like a good idea.

This "fair share" stuff isn't something you should concern yourself with. Don't worry about those posting the tired line "that's not advocacy". I bet they have massive double standards that you'd never know about because as you know everyone on the Internet is morally beyond reproach.

Don't you know that only men are allowed to like craft beer? It can be proven with charts and graphs.

My wife comes to bottle releases with me, but if it looks like there are people in line who wont get beer, then I don't have her get an allotment. If people are planning on just coming the next day and avoiding the line then I don't care if they miss out. One of the local bottle shops always releases the limited stuff in the middle of the day and announces via twitter. I go straight from work and often miss out. Does it suck when I go to a bottle release and see people show up in multiple cars and then load 5 or 6 cases into a single car (LeBleu), of course it does. It is what it is though. At the end of the day its just beer.

I typically carry an assortment of fake mustaches, sideburns, wigs and glasses with me to any limited bottle release. They fall for it every time.
