There is a store near me selling cases of full sail ESB for $15/case. I know it doesn't fit the east coast-whalez-brah-hype machine, but it's rather tasty and an exceptional deal. Doesn't seem like the type of beer that would lose much over time, but I figured I would ask the experts here. A) How will this change over a couple of months? B) Should I stock up? C) How long will it last before falling off/tasting bad?
I bought a case for that price at Supermarket Liquors in FoCo (perhaps the same store you refer to). It tasted just fine to me. I enjoy ESB's and I didn't detect anything odd about this brew even though it was past-date. I just finished the last one this week (bought them about a month ago). At a price point cheaper than PBR, I think it is a safe bet. If I make if back to FoCo anytime soon I will buy another case or two.
Exactly what I was gonna say. I'd buy it for that price unless it was clearly 2+ years old. Worth the risk.
Definitely from SuperMarket Liquors in FoCo. They always have the best deals in town! Thanks, fellas, for confirming what I had suspected. Going to grab a few cases this afternoon. Cheers!
RH ESB is an underrated crusher. It is a shower/lawnmower/drink after I've had a few tastier things beverage.
Grab a six first, if you can. If not, then a single case. Bad beer is bad beer no matter what it costs.
I already have a case, of which I've gone through half. No doubt it's a solid brew. 6.5% is a little high for the style, but I'm okay with it!
'' I agree. I really enjoyed Full Sail's ESB but the 6.5% is just too high for the style. However, at $15/case I was easily able to overlook that one flaw!
