Had a small issue at Dark Horse where I ended up short on bottles. They are offering me this beer. I didn't have a chance to try it but heard it was good. Just wanting to get peoples opinions ON THE BEER that is. Not the situation.

It's either 4 of these or 30 bucks in swag...

well not really cause I paid for another beer, didn't get it and this is what my options are so in reality it ISN'T free beer.....

Not that I am complaining cause I appreciate them doing all they can for me. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the beer itself.

Raymo cracked one last night and claimed it was really good. Maybe he'll swing by this post and share his feelings. It's a nice offer from them, although unfortunately isn't going to make up for the loss of BB Monster.

I thought it was OK, but I can't say I really see myself saying: "you know what I could go for right now? Some sour 3 Guys Off the Scale". I'll probably be drinking my bottles more out of a sense of duty rather than pure enjoyment. My biggest issue with the beer is I've had a couple opportunities to try the old bottles of regular 3 Guys, so looking at that beautiful 375ml bottle and imagining what could've/should've been is a little disheartening.

My biggest concern with the beer is that it's essentially flat. If it had a little carbonation that might develop into a reasonable amount of carbonation, it could be something decent. As it stands, however, it pours like syrup. Hopefully it gets better with a little more time in the bottle.

Most of the 4elf beers from last year needed 1-3mths to carb up.

I had a flat, but promising bottle Sunday. The BA Monster I'm drinking tonight needs some carb as well.

we heard at the party not to pop any bottles for at least 5 days min to allow carb. If htats the case than 2-3 mo will probably be better.

I poured some Lambeek down the drain yesterday, so sad.

haha, theoretically that would be a fair assessment. Nonetheless, I have a few other treats to try out. I hope that the caps are sealed tightly, as opposed to the lambeeks that were hardly even a twist off!

Popped one after the party in the hotel and it was delicious.

Little more carbonated than my 2011 bottles.

You clearly did not drink enough at the party.

I wouldn't have been able to hold it together had a drank another drop after leaving Dark Horse. Boar bacon poppers and muskrat and 10 different kinds of wild game sausage and duck balls and all the other crazy food would have made puking a really fun experience for sure.

    Inorite?

I could have drank more and hurt myself, but I felt so full from the food table I quit drinking from about 9 until leaving.

3.5 full pours of Citra Crooked Tree in a row left me feeling pretty satisfied though. Best batch I've ever had from them.

I haven't tried it myself, but when I was talking to DH cellarman Trent, he was rather excited about the beer. Seemed to be his favorite of the bunch. I'd go for the four sour barleywines myself.
