    Todd and everyone else:

I yanked this idea from another thread:

I had come into the site suggestions area to post something like this, and figured if I post a new thread it is more likely to be seen.
Scenario (that just happened to me): There is a thread with over 500 replies. (the welcome thread)
I want to reply to a post, but don't know if what I want to say has already been said by someone else. If i quote the guy, he will get my response, but this will only start a conversation with me individually, and if it has already been said, he can only reply to me.
Would there be some way to toggle between replies to an individual post? For instance, under the post the reply button, while still being a link, could read something like "11 replies" and when you clicked on it it could navigate you to a sub-page and you would have the opportunity to view all of the replies on one page? Or even just toggle through all of the replies on the main page?
I don't know if this is possible, but I think it would relieve much of the complaining about nesting posts, and would also make conversations much easier. Otherwise, in my example above, I have to remember what the guy said and scroll through all 500 posts to see if the response I want to make has been made, and then make it. Thoughts?

I obviously have no idea whether this idea is workable with the new forum software, but I sure hope it is. I especially like your suggestion of showing how many replies a post has garnered (maybe in tandem with "likes", so that right now Khiasmus' OP would say "woosterbill likes this AND trginter replied to this"?), and possibly spinning off into a sub-forum that only shows the post, the replies made to it, and (maybe as an option?) replies made to those replies.

It's sad that nesting is gone forever, but hopefully there is some way to resurrect at least some of its functionality.
