most weddings of any size, want wine, liquor and champagne, the beer is just a side show, go with bud and bud light, and miller lite. I been to MANY, even if there are few beer geeks like me there, we know if we want good beer, we bring it with us.:grinning:

Why have three beers? Just do Dortmunder and Bud Light. You have the "real beer" drinkers covered and something for everybody else.

One other thought, a wheat beer of some type could be a good addition. It seems this is a style enjoyed by both beer enthusiasts and macro-lager drinkers

You should put your foot down on the lack of a beer selection. You're getting married, you're paying the venue, you're bringing the guests in, etc. Sorry to soap box, but you're the one providing them with the business, they should be accommodating you.

In response to your actual question though, seems like Yuengling and Bud Light would please a lot of folks.

    Isn't the answer obvious?

3 kegs of Dortmunder Gold. You're welcome.

I've been to a lot of weddings lately. The only guys drinking beer tend to be the old guys pounding Miller Lites. Cheap beer + good whiskey is a recipe for a fun reception.

A buddy of mine ran in to this a few months back. He had consulted me about some suggested beers but then the venue said he had to choose from a select "list" which was not that great. His now wife's sis' BF is also co-owner of a local brewery and they wouldn't let him supply anything unless they would pay out the ass. I think certain venues must have contracts with their distributors

I think Harp is underrared. I would go with Harp and Budweiser (if they are sunk in an ice chest). I'd say Yuengling, but I truly believe that the average Joe would rather a Bud. Nice on the Dortmunder. Love that beer.
