I can confirm that one of the Richmond dudes in the front bought around 18 sets and dropped around 3 grand. Not cool but thankfully I got there at 8 and was only 10 or so back from him.

 

Not typical. But this was predictable when they said no limit. Money is never an issue . It was poor form to do what they did (and doesn't surprise me given the guys who did this), but technically they were well within their right to do so. Feel bad for thiose still trying to get into the taproom to even try the beer.

 

Have to say I lost some respect for the brewery today and for the most party I am in no way even affected by this.

 

Plus 4 Richmond guys cut the line right when the bottles went on sale FRB

Seems the Richmond folks at the front of the line bought a large majority of the variants. Seems that they screwed everyone else.

 

Probably revenge for the out of owners purchasing all the GBS last weekend

Parents got me 2 bottles. Sounds like it was clusterfuck though. I feel bad for asking them to get me some now.

 

If anyone would like the BA handle for the person responsible for buying the sets (in case you don't want to trade with him in the future), and it was 21 of each variant I've been told, feel free to shoot me a BM.

 

As much as I hate to say it, this beer is awesome. I'm sure they will get the release situation straightened out for next time. Just wish they wouldn't have said they were trying to deter hoarders and then allowed certain individuals to walk away with 10+ full variant sets

 

You should post it. They obviously felt their actions were acceptable so they shouldn't mind.

Seriously?! Post "hey guys look how cold it'll be tomorrow... don't think it's worth waiting in line..." the gets there at 7am or earlier and buys $3k of variants.
