For the record, since it sounds like 99% of the people commenting on this thread were not there.

$15 got you your first pour and the glass. After everyone in the line who wanted one had a pour, they let people get 2nd pours for $7. This pricing was totally fine.

The raffle tickets came with the cans, but you still had to buy the beer. The bottles were not being raffled, the right to buy a bottle was.

Island Grasp was amazing, but not as good as Brulee which is the best beer I have had in a long time. I appreciate all the haters, because it keeps the line for what are easily the best stouts on the west coast right now shorter for me.

 

$7 a taster is fine? The only time I pay above $5 a taster is for modern times (I believe their high end ones are $6) and there ba beers are often aged for 12 months or more and WAY better than any 3 chiefs I've tried.

 

Why do people get so hung up on how long something is in a barrel. Faha, Brulee, and Island Grasp are all better stouts than anything Modern Times has done. Who cares how long they decided to leave it in if it tastes so good? I am not paying for rent in a barrel.

 

Well most people that are buying a barrel aged beer buy it for the barrel taste. Weird right

 

I think most of the new money beer bros even really like beer. They like alcoholic OJ and high abv stouts with chunks of nutrageous bars floating in 'em. Let 'em have it.

 

I buy barrel aged beer because I believe it is a positive contribution to the taste of the beer. A beer can still taste amazing without having a ton of barrel character. If you buy beer for the barrel taste I have some Oldest Viscosity for you.

BTW, brûlée had tons of flavor from the rum without the burn. It was amazing.

People have this thing in their head where beer can't be a luxury product. Maybe that was true when it was made from three ingredients, but times have changed.

I also think some of us are used to in demand, low quantity items (and what comes with it) from other hobbies so none of this feels that awful.

im old school, beer community and trading to me is all about sharing good beer. Not about holding beer for ransom.
seeing their IG post with #walezbro just doesnt fall in my personal beliefs about beer, thats kinda why im turned off by them.

but thats ok they are free to do business however they'd like and i hope those that enjoy their beer continue to do so

I understand if people don't like Three Chiefs. They do some things I don't like (e.g. the whale talk, the way "memberships" panned out, etc.) but I do think these kinds of troll posts belong on Facebook or Instagram instead of being the official thread for a brewery here. People don't come to BA for this.

I'd understand if they did some real outrageous stuff (like Reckless Brewing for example), but "oh no, you need to buy a glass to get a taster!?", come on now.
