went yesterday (thursday) for lunch at around 1pm and even then it was pretty busy - quick and excellent service, though. i can't even imagine a saturday evening - even down here at Upland you're looking at an hour+ wait on a saturday if you show up after 5, same with portsmouth brewery, deschutes, and most other places i've lived with a good local establishment. it's not just FFF, but the general public really getting behind the local brewery/restaurant scene, especially when the food's good. we're not the only ones into it, so plan accordingly.

6pm on a Saturday? I don't live there and can't tell you, but I can tell you every other good restaurant/brewpub in American will be busy at that time.

A lot of places in Chicago have wait times like that on a Saturday night. Hell, Violet Hour used to have waits like that all the time.

I understand waiting if it's a big event, but on a normal basis, there would be no way I'd be spending that much time waiting for stuff, whether it be beer, music, a movie, etc. If Founder's, Short's or Kuhnhenn had a 2 hour wait everyday, I probably would find something else to do. Props to you if you like waiting around though.

I've been there with a gourp of 7-8 since the remodel. The high tables to your immediate right when you walk in are typically pushed together for a larger group.

So our group ( of only 5 ) did end up going on Sat night.

We stopped by around 7 pm and were told 45 minutes. So we actually put our name in and headed to check in to our hotel and drop off our car. By the time we were able to catch a cab to get back to the pub it was about 7:45.

The guy running the door said he had called our name twice. We said sorry and that we were all here now and would not leave again. He was very nice and said no big deal and he would un-scratch our name and call us next. 10 minutes later we were in. There were others still waiting too, but not really that many.

They put us at a table for 4 with a chair on the end. Worked fine.

Also the service once inside was excellent. Beer when we needed it and good food when we needed it. No complaints at all.

Overall we had a great time....

Glad to hear everything worked out.

Yes there's almost always a wait but it's usually not as bad as people make it out to be, and always worth it. Im not really sure what people expect when they show up to a very popular brewpub on a weekend with groups larger than 4. The place is small, as mentioned 60 people, and most of those seats are for <4.

So my personal advice to anyone who loathes lines:
    - Show up at off hours (after the lunch crowd, early evening, late at night)
    - Weekdays
    - groups of 4 or less ( never waited more that 10-15 minutes with just 2 people)
