I'm going down to South Bend in a couple weeks for a football game and I was wondering if there were any local beer stores that had a good supply of 3F near the campus area. Any of you Indiana-ins wanna chime in?
I visited South Bend a few years ago on a business trip. Belmont Beverage on South Bend Ave had a ton of Three Floyds stuff. I met up with alleykatking, who was the manager of the store at the time and we shared some beers outside. It's also very close to the campus. I don't know if he's still the manager of the store, but it may be worth shooting alleykatking a message to see what they have.
Go to Bleachers (bar) and get a pitcher of Dreadnaught, Alpha King or whatever else they have... for $5.50!!!
If your football game is on the campus of Notre Dame, then yes that Belmont Beverage would be your closest place to get beer. However, the manager that build up the craft beer selection in that store has since left and I don't know what the selection is at this point. IMO City Wide Liquor will have your best selection either downtown on Jefferson or on Grape Rd.- both will be probably about the same distance in opposite directions from ND. And if you happen to go downtown, Fiddler's Hearth is IMO the best beer bar in town.
Not sure if I'll have a lot of time to hang out at a bar. Although $5.50 pitchers of 3F sounds awesome.
I just went to City Wide on Grape this past weekend and they had sixers of Alpha and Pride & Joy (and I think Robert the Bruce). They had bombers of Dreadnaught, Arctic Panzer. Brian Boru, Rabbid Rabbit, Behemoth (and I think Black Sun). They had a great selection of other beers as well.
