They will open a brewpub here.
I'm under the impression that a Warpigs brewpub in Humboldt Park is still in the works.

I thought warpigs was a mikkeller-3floyds collab. Is that correct?

So, I admittedly know very little about these type of things. -But, would this be the first brew-pub for a company that only exists as a collab?

I've never heard of such a thing.

Warpigs already exists as a brewpub in Copenhagen.

The description of Argues for Sport is accurate in regards to the varying carbonation levels. I've had a couple bottles now and one was slightly carbed and the other was nonexistent. Both good. But there will be quite a bit of difference among bottles like it says on the 3 Floyds site.

While the roads in the industrial park itself may not get much traffic, Calumet Ave off the freeway is already an overly busy mess.

Munster is poised for a population explosion. Good schools, proximity to Chicago, and none of the IL tax/pension problems that are going to bankrupt the state. Once they put the train line from Munster to Chicago in, that place is going to be the biggest Chicago suburb.

Munster schools are seriously in the red. They have been forced to make some unpopular cuts. They don’t have the same perception they one did. Google it.

Traffic is terrible Munster because it is already overcrowded. There is nowhere for a population explosion to explode. The Indiana population is shifting south and east of Munster.

Traffic is terrible everywhere. Once that train goes in there will be a palatable equivalent to getting into the loop as the suburbs served by metra...

The population shift you describe is probably the beginning of gentrification....

For sure. I meant the industrial park itself. No reason to reject Floyds proposal when the brewpub is the only reason to ever turn onto Superior Ave

The train has been in the works for 15 years, when I last lived in Munster. I will believe it when I see it. That is really not going to clear up 4 lane Calumet Avenue in the middle of the day.

Gentrification? People moving to less crowded, newer suburbs is not gentrification. Gentrification means renovating previous run down areas. Cedar Lake, Schererville, Crown Point, etc are hardly run down.

FWIW, I spoke to a FFF brewer last year at Great Taste and he said none of the brewers there even have any idea what is going on with the distillery. He said it is a close kept secret. So I'll assume we'll know more when they are ready to tell us.

Hopefully whiskey has been sitting in barrels for the few years since it's been built.

Zero federal funding for that train in this years budget, too, so it’s probably another 15 years away. And yeah, Munsters growth as far as population is done, nowhere left to build. All the new subdivisions are going in St John and Cedar Lake.

Why would you move to a new suburb? You can buy in Munster for a 1/3 of the price in some of the comparable suburbs of Chicago, you can buy a property, raze it and build new and still come out ahead.

I think most things are a well kept secret there. They're really good at keeping them too. The only hint I've ever gotten was this year sitting at the bar. I was bullshitting around and asked what was up with drunk monk and by coincidence they said it was expected in a day or two. Total shot in the dark but my beer senses were tingling.
