Is anyone else having trouble getting ahold of Three Floyds beer? My local store in Milwaukee said they've been unable to get Alpha King for months now.

I can tell you first hand there's a shortage. Drove there last week and was only allowed to get two cases. Not of any one particular type of beer, either. Total. Rationing beer.

Discount in Waukesha seems to have little problem keeping FFF brews in stock. However, I had heard from a friend in charge of buying beer for a pair of smaller local stores that their distributor went through a FFF dry-spell awhile ago, and because of that these stores didn't receive Moloko until several weeks after Discount. I have no inisight to offer regarding this information, draw what conclusions you will.

Harder than it used to be, but usually all regulars and seasonals are periodically in stock. Except Gumbhallhead. Haven't seen ANY for a year or so.

Give FFF a break. They have a problem with the brewery burning down at least every other month.

I will be driving to Milwaukee with a friend and staying there. We were planning on driving down to Three Floyds brewery to grab some beer, see the sites, etc. Are there any liquor stores that have the best chance at having any Three Floyds that we should consider (based on the shortage I mean)?

Besides Gumballhead flying off the shelves too fast all of the regulars have been available my area.

    Non-sarcastic answer:

Yes. Within the past year, they've expanded distribution into Ohio, their popularity continues to rise, Gumballhead flies off the shelf in nearly every market, they've diversified their beer portfolio (brewery-only bottle sales/releases have skyrocketed), they've limited the number of cases and bottles that can be purchased by an individual at the brewery, and their brewery has stayed at the same location. Furthermore, there are some restrictive Indiana Laws that would prevent a certain level of production increase while maintaining a pub. I don't recall the details, but some places made a fuss about it last year.

While visiting Chicago earlier this year I had a very hard time finding it at Binny's and West Lakeview. At Binny's they only had Arctic Panzer Wolf bombers, and when I asked a worker, he said he kept the six-packs in the back and you have to ask for them.

I live in Philadelphia. I've only been there the one time. The post wasn't genuine any more than the one's claiming FFF has burnt to the ground.

I'm glad you spent the time digging that up, however.

Wait, the one time or the two times? Back before Philly Beer Week and "last week" as you stated in this thread?

I've gone once. Prior to Philly Beer Week. My initial post in this thread was tongue in cheek referring to the policy that was enacted limiting people to two cases. There was a time where we'd consider making the drive out there if we could load up on enough to get us through several months. We can't get it here, and can't make the trip that often, so it's nice to be able to get a decent quantity when you're there. It's not like we're selling on eBay or trading it. We would like to consume it. To get out there from Philly, from either a time stand point or cost, when considering gas, turnpike, etc...simply isn't feasible but once or twice a year. It's simply not worth the trip to have a two case limit imposed.

I can't tell whether I have less command of the English language than I thought, or whether you have very little, or you're simply choosing to read it in a manner that best suits your goals...which I'm none too sure of at this point.

To summarize...I was taking a jab and implying there's a FFF shortage even when you visit the brewery in person because they can't afford to sell more than 2 cases to any one person. Show's over. I'm done here.

Hello. 2 cases at a time is fine with me. You want more?, bring extra bodies to get their allotment. I've never had a problem aquiring whatever I want at the brewery. I check the website and see what they have on hand to sell. Then I go. Easy! Thanks.

I'm not complaining whatsoever, but when Dreadnaught was unavailable at the brewpub (on-tap nor in bottles) for nearly two months, that was a clear sign of just how diversified they are in production now. I hear that it's returned, so rejoice. But yeah, this is not just another "brewpub on fire" thing.

I would pose to the OP another way to look at it. Anytime it is available anywhere other than at the brewery then I see it as a surplus!
