I heard about this beer when I first started trading a few years ago, but I was unable to set up a trade for it at the time due to either not having enough ammo, trade references, or just not trying hard enough, I can't really remember. I haven't really tried since, but it popped back in my head that I wanted to try it. I was wondering how often this is made, and in how small of a batch? I was also wondering what people were trading for it? Recent reviews are from growlers so I'm led to believe that it's not such an issue to acquire it in a sendable form (e.g. knowing someone at the bar who will break the rules and fill a growler for you), unless it's something like when they first release Czar Jack in a limited number of growlers. I did a search for Three Hour Tour but I haven't seen any threads on the new forum about it. I haven't actually had anything from Town Hall and a lot of their beers interest me, but Three Hour Tour sounds right up my alley. Any help is appreciated.
it's done in growler only, released I believe once a year, right around their anniversary. Since TH counter pressure fills their growlers, they last forever. Shouldnt be too hard to obtain.
It is growlered, but usually only once a year (maybe twice on occasion?), and those go fairly quickly. A brief look at the page on here shows 94 wants and 1 got. And it's got very high ratings. You might find a reasonable trader with a growler who doesn't want the world for it, but you might not. Your odds are probably better around the next time they release it (which should be anniversary week in October). And no, I don't have a growler, nor do I know of anyone who does, so I'm not trying to push its trade value up. Just trying to provide some info.
Has been available for anniversary week (right after Darkness Day) for past two years (at least!). Doesn't sell out as fast as Mango Mama does. If I were you, I would set a pretrade up around that time. I have sent it out only to regulars* so I have no comments on trade value. * Return boxes = good regardless of value
Thanks for the info everyone! ReTag offered to trade me a growler from the last release but I'm looking for something fresh, though that is apparently months away. I'll try and set up a trade around then, unless someone wants to set up a pretrade. Whether I'm in Washington or down in San Diego for work at the time, I'm sure I'll be able to scrounge up something that will make both parties happy.
