Like I said, this is partly about where you live, partly also about perspective/experience.

Maybe I'm just very lucky because I've happened to be at the right place at the right time, two years in a row. But at this one shop I mentioned, I understand Pliny the Younger stayed on tap for about a week solid this spring. Wasn't that big of a deal. I also happened to stumble on a few bottles of Deviation there a month or so ago, but I couldn't pull the trigger on an $85 bottle of beer—especially since I've had it before.

For me, anything from Cantillon or 3F is a lot more elusive than PtY—mainly because Shelton Brothers doesn't even distribute in this state. (Hopefully again soon though)

I could never narrow down to 3. Because I live in Texas, and we dont seem to get about 80% of the beer available everywhere else, there is simply too much I havent been able to track down. :slight_frown:

I have checked fresh PTE, Nelson, Hopslam, HF Abner & Just Outstanding off my list. Now if I could just get some Heady (without trading) I'd be happy. I came so close during Philly beer week...

That I actually really want to try? Blabaer. Lots of other things I'd like to try but whatever, don't mind missing them.

Like Draheim I'm a bit surprised about PtY being here so many times. It seems like either it's trivial or impossible to get, so it's not like you should ever be surprised about getting it. Come to SF Beer Week and you can drink it a dozen times. Many of these other ones are impossible to find at all, but not PtY. You know exactly where it'll be and when it'll be there, you just have to get on a plane.
