How is the Suarez collab, folks? I wish Threes had released it a few days earlier.

I'd be all for that too. 2 4-packs of mixed beers always hits the spot when you have plenty of options.

Haven't tried the Suarez collab yet but the most recent Evil Twin IPA is very good.

Pretty quiet around these parts! Very tempted to pick up a 4-pack of the Barleywine this weekend.

Very interested in these. I've only ever had pale ale / german style lager from Three's. What's their reputation for dark styles like these?

One of the first beers I tried from Threes was a baltic porter and it was excellent. Not sure if their recipes have changed but I'm expecting good things.

Apparently they lost their head brewer, Greg Doroski, anyone know what happened?

Not sure on the details, but he left quite a awhile ago. He lives in LI and had no intention of brewing in Brooklyn long-term, I know that much.

Wasn't there talk at some point of moving the bulk of Threes' production out to near where he was from and that he would run operations out there? If that never ended up happening, I would be surprised to see a new brewery pop up in his neighborhood sometime this year.

Whoever is in charge now should be flogged for brewing that smoked sour with Root + Branch. The year is young, but it is by far the worst beer I’ve had in 2018

Because you thought it was a poor example of the style, or just a style of beer you're personally not a fan of?

Admittedly not a huge fan of smoked beers, but I do enjoy some porters and stouts with a touch of smoke. I got it for my GF as she’s into sours (it was labeled as a Smokey Sour Wheat Ale), but she took one sip and immediately went to order another beer. To answer your question, I guess it’s a little bit of both

Yeah, I actually don't usually like smoke beers, but really liked it. It's tough to rank it between the other hoppy Root + Branch beers I had yesterday, but it's a unique combo with a balanced smoke flavor in it.

It sounds like she doesn't like smoked beers either. Lol.

In other words, well executed beer, brewer doesn't deserve to be flogged.

Is this a brewery I should make a point in visiting in early March. Coming out there for the weekend. Thanks for any help.

hmmm, Im not sure I would make it a focal point. But if you are visiting Other Half I think it would be worth a stop since its so close. Threes makes enjoyable beer, not world class but very good. The selling point for me is the space. If you are looking for a really cool space to hang out in its a good bet, especially if the weather is good and the outside area is open. If you are purely just interested in the beer and IPAs in particular, maybe spending all your time at Other Half would be better.

The beers are decent. Food is ok. Service can be so so. Agreed with @HeyLady that the space is great.

Can get packed though. And I’d describe the atmosphere as broller (bros + strollers)
