    Hey guys

I received a tile coaster as an extra a couple years ago and it was been a great coaster(heavy durable and doesn't move). Has anyone ever made these? Seems simple enough....get small tiles (i would assume 2-3" squares), get a sticker to put on the front as the decoration, then put some kind of epoxy or clear coat to protect it? On bottom put some of the soft part of Velcro so it does not scratch or move easily. Is anyone has an idea of this let me know as I wanna start making skme if these soon! Thanks again

We did that for gifts for the attendants at our wedding.
We got tumbled marble tiles, and a couple stamps. Sealed with the modpodge.
Squares of stick-on felt on each corner of the bottom.
    They look great.

Thanks for the tips! Went to lowes and got 10 tiles and a spone brush for 5.00 and made 5 coasters already. Waiting on some new stickers so I can have different coasters but was overwhelmingly impressed at how easy these were to make! Thanks again!

will post pictures tomorrow...but i made one of a jack daniels label for my friend who collects it and he was using it and sent a picture and the mod podge stuff was peeling off..did i not apply it thick enough or are these not good for glasses that will sweat (such as a pint glass)?

It could be that the mod podge didn't set all the way before it got wet? To be cautious, you can apply several coats of mod podge and then spray on acrylic sealer on top. (if you get any build up of the mod podge, you can lightly sand it with wet sandpaper between coats)

I've done a few stacks of coasters from typical 1ft Home Depot floor tiles that I had left over from projects. Black Marble, Travertine, Slate, etc. I cut them to appropriate size with my saw, smooth the corners, and put adhesive cork on the bottom. I like the look of the stone, so I've never tried to put any labels, but its a cool idea.

My girlfriend made these for me. She used a clear spray paint coat on the top, I think. She also used cork on the bottom.

Are they stickers or just printed out labels?

They were stickers that they used to give out at the cannery.
