I drank lots of both draft and bottled tilquin last night at BBF. I'd say there is a sharper acidity to the bottles in this batch. Not enough to go crazy over. Draft seemed very similar to the many other times I've had it. Still a very solid gueuze.

Disgusting, horrible beer. I was offended that I walked into a store and bought a shelf beer that I find better than Beatification, for less money. The nerve.

same here about the draft at BBF. first time having it and it was tart and a little acidic. if I ever have more again, I can do a comparison. other than that, I thougt the draft tasted good.

New batch is better than the last from the samples I have had. Definitely a gusher if you don't get it nice and cold. Even then, watch out for a very explosive pour. The new batch puts it right up their with 3 font, imo.

I agree, very similar to 3 font. At least the draft is

This one is very readily available in Los Angeles right now. I love Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen but Tilquin is fast becoming my go to drink as a very viable alternative. I can also buy more than one bottle at a time and it's not treated (yet) like the Holy Grail. Mrbubbler turned me on to this about a year or so ago when he found some bottles at Provisions. It was the start of a very nice relationship with him and Tilquin!

It's also probably the most acetic outside of Hanssens.

    Closest to Cantillon, I think.

Second tier, but pushing the first. Interested to see how different bottles and different releases turn out.

Just curious -- what are you guys paying for the 750s? They're $25 out here in Seattle.

2011/2012 on the neck label with best by sometime in 2022 IIRC. At work so can't look at the bottle right now.

Tilquin? Turns out it's the Belgian word for "Heinz Vinegar." I should've paid more attention to Rosetta Stone.

I'll help you on your noble quest to make sure the rest of the world never has to experience the terror that is Tilquin.

Chuck Berry's song "I'm talking about you" easily sounds like "I'm Tilquin 'bout gueuze" after a few beers.
