I couldn’t find anything recent, so created a new thread. I apologize if this should have been posted elsewhere.

Any insights to Tilted Barn? Does stuff sell out quickly on Wednesday or is it more low key, and if you order early in the week, can you pick up any time through Saturday? Anything to keep an eye out for in what they’re releasing?

    thanks!

You pretty much nailed that you don't have to rush for anything. I'm pretty sure you can still order for the week and pick up whenever.

Right now they have some Waterlemon (not Watermelon) Cay and it was one of my favorite IPAs I had in 2019. Very lemon forward with just an insane nose.

I believe you can pickup anytime through Saturday at 5pm of the week you order. Late last Saturday I was passing by, so pulled into the parking lot and ordered then immediately went to the table for pickup.

The only beers in jeopardy of selling out quickly will be the "Ones" (Chosen One and Other One) and DDH versions.

I personally like Cactus DIPA which has carried over to this weekend, sometimes I get tired of Chosen One with how extra it is. Cactus has that hint of bubble gum yeast but not over the top like some of their beers can get.

I went to Tilted Barn last year and brought home 6 different IPAs. DDH Cactus was far and away the clear winner. I maxed out at 12 cans, and it took a few weeks to get through them all. I can't say if it's indicative of Tilted Barn as a whole, but the DDH Cactus cans were much better fresh than after a few weeks of age.

Unfortunately, your experience with cactus was not an anomaly. Had it less than a week old and was great, but now that it is 3 weeks old, the cans have really fallen off. I can’t think of another beer that dropped off so much within a week, and while what I thought was still relatively fresh.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I didn't want to be too hyperbolic since I've only been there once, but I distinctly remembered my cans of DDH Cactus falling off a damn cliff between weeks 1 and 4. Fresh those cans were some of the best IPAs I drank last year, but they got so much less enjoyable after a few weeks.

I hope you enjoyed the brewery otherwise. I hit a few breweries when I was in RI last year, and Tilted Barn had easily the best beer. Albeit I didn't get a chance to go to providence and hit up long live.

Totally fine and I think they’ll have a great spot when the new barn opens. But yes, that description is 100pct correct. I thought it would be too much, but “fallen off a cliff” is the exact right description of cactus from weeks 2 to 3.

New place looks beautiful. Happy for them, Matt & Kara are great people. Can't wait until I can stop in and enjoy a few pints looking over the farm. They were already a must-stop on my list, but with this new taproom it's finally got a great destination feel to it.

Hope that "Please keep off the grass" sign is temporary while it's growing, considering the grass around the pond was formerly kind of the only place to sit and relax, big part of the experience of getting a beer there. And that lawn looks so inviting.

I'm guessing the sign is temporary: it appears that grass was planted quite late in the growing season, so it is better to give the grass the Spring to also establish before allowing folks to walk on it.
