It was sort of inevitable, and I'm a bit surprised that it took this long, but "Imperial" versions of CDA's (or Black IPA's, or American Black Ales) are starting to show up. Time to add an ImpCDA style to the site?

Haven't these been around for awhile? Isn't Sublimely Self Righteous "Imperial?"

Edit: Also, doesn't the site just list the style as "American Black Ale?" No need to change it methinks. And at 8.7% - SSR is certainly at similar strength as an Imperial IPA. But you know brewers these days - they'll call their beer what they have to to make it sound new and move product.

Well, we have brewers that call their ImpIPAs at 8%, and some with 8% just call it regular, and we've Imperial versions of lots of other styles, so why not CDA/BIPA/ABA's?

Haven't added imperial reds yet either, but ehh, everything can be imperial these days. Still pretty much the same.

A local brewery just made a barrel aged session stout. It was 4.5% ABV if I remember correctly.

Hate to say it but the OG #1 beer Storm King falls into this style so if it was not necessary a decade ago its not necessary now.
