And headed to the Boise area (is this "mountain"?) shortly. I'm not seeing tackers on the "shop" section of websites. Just curious if there are breweries that have tackers for sale. Looking at websites, some places I go to, or will visit, have them readily and obviously available, Boise not so much.

Just an idea, but you may try liquor stores. Sometimes they'll sell tackers of breweries (or beers) they no longer carry, or are extinct. I haven't seen many breweries actually carry tackers for sale. Some do, but it's probably a big up front cost for them.

Craigslist is also a good spot to look. Restaurants will sell ones they are trying to get rid of.

You should call the brewery. The tackers are inexpensive, but packing and shipping would probably be just as expensive as the tacker themselves.

I'm actually driving through and intend to purchase in person. None of the breweries I've looked at other than 10 Barrel (I can snag that locally) have tackers in their online shops. Lots of tackers show up in other locations but Boise doesn't seem to be big on promoting them for some reason. I figure at least some should probably have them, just wondering if any locals might recommend where to check first. Calling is an option I guess, there's lots of breweries in the area. Thanks.

Off the top of my head, not many have them in the Boise area.... Most of the breweries are too small and have too fine of margins to invest in expensive memorabilia that most locals won't ever purchase.

    That said...

I am pretty sure Sockeye does ... and probably Payette. Powderhaus might.

I would call Mother Earth (in Nampa) and ask. I doubt Boise Brewing does, but it is worth a phone call.

I know I have a Snake River Zonker Stout tacker somewhere; if I can find it, I will message you and you can have it.

    Cheers, Toby.

Edit: Barbarian might... but I doubt it too.

I will also send a message to our tasting group and ask them if they have other info or signs they don't want.

Awesome info. I was thinking Payette might as they have a pic of their place with a tacker on the wall, but not in their store. I ran across Sockeye earlier today while web surfing, like their logo, hope they have one. I can probably justify 3-5 stops, my wife and I enjoy pub hopping and sampling pints or a flight now and then, you've given me a good starting point.

At first I'd thought I'd order tackers online from all over, then I decided it'd be better to pick 'em up on visits, make it more personal. I need to visit Colorado and Montana, lots of breweries seem to have them there. I have a pretty good sized basement with bare walls. Could keep me busy for a few years of travels.

Thanks again. If you hear of other spots around let me know. We're headed to Ketchum amend I'm pretty sure there's at least one brewery with tackers in the next town over.

    Steve
