As @DefenCorps observed last weekend, it's TIPA season.

Yesterday, The Beermongers announced the arrival of Block 15 The Incredible, Grains of Wrath Spoils of War, and Bale Breaker Mount Saint Humulus, all in cans.

I had half a can of The Incredible last Saturday and finished it on Sunday. The light body and awesome hop flavor was not enough to balance out the punishing booziness. I am very much looking forward to nabbing some Mount Saint Humulus (always a favorite TIPA) this weekend, along with trying Spoils of War for the first time.

What else is out there? Dare we hope for the return of Breakside Safe Word?

I had the Block 15 The Incredible last week. i quite liked it. yes, its a bit boozy, but i kind of expect that with a 10/11% IPA.

To be fair: It was a tasty beer, and the heat was neither unexpected nor completely unwelcome. The alcohol in the finish just felt kinda raw for me. There are other TIPAs which do a better job of hiding their ferocity.

I hope Function brings some Hops of Fury from Beachwood, and a Shred TIPA. I hope we see the return of El Segundo's Power Plant to Portland, i haven't seen cans since 2022 and that makes me sad.

Younger left Santa Rosa on the 3rd, so we might have to ability to drink ourselves silly of Superbowl Sunday more efficiently than we'd planned.

I hope pFriem cans their TIPA so I can session with wild abandon rather than worry about getting home safely.

The RR blog and the younger thread in the Pacific forum seemed to indicate that it would ship and arrive at various West Coast locations on the 8th. John's has already announced they'll be tapping it on the 8th as well.

Sounds like a superbowl Sunday with younger is a distinct possibility.

I've had the Block 15 Incredible and Grains of Wrath Spoils of War thus far this season. Both are tasty enough but neither has scratched the itch yet.

Younger is here! Tapped on the Westside at both Wildwood locations.

gotta admit, I've been sleeping on this place. Because of location and general aesthetics, i assumed their taplist would be pretty vanilla so i never checked them out. they're pouring some good sh*t !

I can confirm PtY is in the Columbia Portland warehouse as of yesterday. More than likely at least a couple spots will have it today. edit: I missed @DefenCorps's post prior to posting this. Whoops!

Meanwhile, b2 is the only place getting it in Salem again this year. Unfortunately, the b2 under new ownership is much less caring and knowledgeable about beer, so it'll be interesting to see how they go about tapping it, what they serve it in, and what they charge for it. I'm also fairly certain they haven't been cleaning their lines, so we're really in uncharted territory here.

Wildwood is a gem, I think of it as our version of Arch Bridge.

They get some pretty surprising stuff, on tap and in the coolers in back.

I don't usually buy cans/bottles, though, because they don't put price tags on 'em.

I had a pour of it yesterday at Beer Mongers. I would have had another but restraint was needed with Super Bowl chili to be made.

Looks like Roscoe's is tapping it tomorrow. It will be nice to be able to walk home after.

Currently in Japan with the wife and will be till next Monday. Am hoping someplace will still have it around by then, but am not hugely optimistic. Looks like most places are tapping it as soon as they get their keg in.
