Tipping your beer guy?

    Giving him a case of Bud is ridiculous. Giving him a Westy 12 or a fresh Pliny etc. is always greatly appreciated.

    You sound like my wife who is puzzled as to why I am bringing beer to the guy at the beer store.

    This is a repeat topic, so I'll summarize.

    Tipping in this situation shouldn't be expected, as the wage structure doesn't rely on tips and we're talking about the owner of the store here. That said, no one can tell you how to spend your money. If you feel compelled to make it rain on your beer guy, or store owner, go for it. The worst thing that'll happen is they'll say "no thanks."

    Sometimes a simple "thanks" is enough, but if you want to stay classy and build a better relationship ... mail them a good old-fashioned thank you letter or gift; as suggested already.

    But ultimately none of this is required. He's rewarding your frequent shopping, and you're going to continue to put money in his wallet because of it. It's a win-win for everyone already.
