Tired Hands (2021)

Hmmm . . . good to know. I've placed way too many Dudley orders lately, but I was really intrigued by that one.

 

Big saison drop next week, according to Instagram comment. Great news, as we're overdue for some.

 

Visiting the area next week, so I've been watching TH availability - I've been wondering about the lack of saisons. Hoping to be able to get some.

I suppose it shouldn't be the most shocking thing. Given his ownership and role he certainly holds a wildly disproportionate amount of power. I always assumed he probably had a bit of an ego and very well might have been an obnoxious stoner at times, but these seem to go above and beyond. I'm not dumping my beer and smashing glassware but I won't be buying more at this time. Seems like a lot of smoke to be no fire. Their deletion of comments and silence isn't great either. Not sure what the road ahead looks like. If even half the stuff is true, it's a real problem. He IS the company in a lot of ways, the face of it and, along with his wife, the primary benefactor from TH purchases, not a random manager. I don't think him attending a weekend HR seminar on race and sexism is going to cut it. Also sounds like he really does need to grow up. That is, maybe as a boss getting high at work and interacting with employees is unprofessional regardless of whether you're rude or not.

 

The way they've handled past issues, and the fact that someone specifically accused Jean of "toxic positivity" (which frankly sounds right on point), leads me to believe that we'll see something as threadbare as Hill's response (i.e. "we're dedicated to positive change going forward [and refuse to address the past]") which in my eyes would be wholly insufficient.

Still on the fence personally, and would love to hear what the response is, first. I think giving them a few days to respond is fine.

I don't have access to post it, but their head brewer did have a substantial response if anyone wants to post it.

 

Anyone looking for the Tired Hands specific content, if you read "Sexism Pt 8" at https://www.instagram.com/ratmagnet/ it starts with about 10 pages of anecdotes from a guy that was with Tired Hands for a long time. Mentions some of the same things that showed up in some of the earlier ones.

 

Jean is “stepping aside for a bit” per acknowledgement on Instagram.

 

Ok listening sessions with the guy that's your boss, sole owner, and ostensibly the problem is... an approach. Cute adding janitor to his list of titles. I mean, just be professional for literally one minute to show MAYBE you take this seriously. This is somehow an even worse response than Hill's galaxy brained philosophical nonsense.

Interesting (though not surprising for a handful of obvious reasons) to see the tone of posts in this thread vs HF one (tho maybe there were others that got nuked that I missed).

Still no explanation why, though.....c'est la vie.

 

To be fair, I do think the amount and tenor of the accusations against Tired Hands are pretty different (even if they're both rightly coming to light as a part of this campaign).

 

Majority, but not sole. If you look up Tired Hands license information in the public PLCB database, Jean 40%, Julie 40%, then others with 1, 2, 3 % ownership stakes to make up the other 20%.
