So they just posted on Instagram. 1 Case pp of Hop Hands and 4 4packs pp of High Road, but they didn't say how much they have of each.

What happens to the growlers that are traded-in? I assume they simply go into recycling, which is pretty wasteful.

On a side note, I haven't bought a growler from Iron Hill in over a decade because they insist that it's the law that they fill only their own branded growlers.

I would say that's the exact opposite of wasteful, no?

100% false. THey always make me pay for new glass. Also, they have never once swapped my branded growler for a freshy

Not at all! The best way to recycle is to simply re-use. There's loss in recycling; and it takes energy to recycle glass and then re-blow it and screen print it, and re-ship it - not to mention the packaging materials that are used in repackaging it for transport/sale. So, no, recycling something that doesn't need to be recycled is VERY WASTEFUL.

I've never had a problem, or heard of anyone having a problem swapping non-TH glass for theirs. Why would you bother swapping if they charge you for it anyway?

jimgraz said nothing about swapping, he said if you bring non branded growlers in they will not charge you for their glass. This is not the case. I like keeping my other growlers so I obviously wouldnt do a swap. I expect them to tape over the other brand and slap on a tired hands sticker or label.

Their policy is just as douchey as Russian RIver

I see what you're saying now. If you swap, obviously you don't have to pay for the glass.

How long ago was it that they didn't trade your glassware? I know a few years ago, they would not, but that has been the case since around the time the Fermentaria opened.

Thanks for the update jmdrpi. The law was as clear then as it is now, I don't know what the issue was with IH.

As for Tired Hands I'll think about it, but I doubt they care!!! It's not like they've got to push their beer on the unwanting masses :stuck_out_tongue:
