I was talking with my brother and he had the bright ideal of giving some friends 2-3 hundred bucks get a few cases of said hyped IPA and then sell 4 packs to those who get shut out for $30. Although I would be skeptical of being robbed by some of these unstable types that come out.

This is exactly what is wrong with craft beer. Sad people would actually do this.

Actually everything wrong with craft beer has been mentioned and discussed in this thread.

    1.Waiting in line for beer
    2.Paying north of $20 a 4 pack
    3.Cutting in the beer line
4.People taking the last 4 pack and not sharing a can with the person who let them have the
    opportunity at the pack
    5.Entitled attitudes
    6.Out of state beer bandits

I was only half joking in my OP..

Can't argue with this. 100% true.

Sadly a lot of it got deleted! I was having fun with that. Not sure that #1 is a problem - people wait in line for all kinds of popular, in-demand things - but I agree with the rest. Especially #3 and #5. Also, as a New Yorker, I hope to be #6 one day and visit Tired Hands for a release.

    Agree.

I have to say that the funniest line was the person saying that they really needed all 4 of the cans. If you are saying you needed them to trade them then that's a problem in itself. I don't think anyone really NEEDS beer unless you have another problem.

    So much entertainment.

High Road was not worth waiting for IMO. It's OK, but they've produced much better DIPA's.

I'll cross this one off the list of future must have's.

I'll second that and I wouldn't buy High Road again (if it is even made again)

You're correct... after all the complaints about "butter beer" they've done things to combat that off putting taste by completely ruining Alien Church from here on out.

Not just you. This batch was almost unrecognizable to me. It's still a good beer, but it completely lacks the creamy oats, thicker feel, and haziness. I didn't get the medicine or the overly bitterness (I actually complained at first to someone that it didn't have that pine-y lingering bitterness of Mosaic that I really enjoy). I'm not really sure what's going on behind the scenes, but I can't imagine changing up the recipe so much to address diacetyl issue.

Just visited Tired Hands for the first time this last weekend. Out of the 7 ipa's they had on tap Alien Hands was by far and away my favorite. I am a sucker for Mosaic (and never had a chance to try the previous batches) but all in all the Alien Hands on tap at the Fermentaria (and the growler we took to go) was absolutely delicious. No medicine, not overly bitter, just pure dank goodness.

You mean Alien Church? Or are you referring to HopHands?

    Cheers!

I'm going to venture he meant Alien Church if he referenced mosaic.

Keith that is likely but I figured I would check to make sure.

    Cheers!

I don't care how much diacetyl was or was not in Alien Church, that beer was great and did not need any changes.

Is it me or does it now seem they don't sell out on Wednesday nights. A few times I've seen they still have beer to sell by Thursday at noon opening.

IIRC, Rose was the only can besides HopHands that didn't sell out the night of. High Road was sold out right after they let people relined (only 5 people were able to double dip) the same day. Alien Church and Punge were sold out in less than 2 hours. Milkshakes were gone just as quickly.

Rose was actually really good too but the price was definitely too high on that one. For me at least.

I thought it was really sweet day of release but had one the other day and it was much different and all the other flavors had come forward.

I had a can of Rose last night and enjoyed it too. It really reminded me of a lemon and honey cough drop in flavor but not in a bad way.

Yeah it's definitely changed. I like it better now than when it was only a few days old.
