I think, at the very least, Alien Church will last the night.

    I know... I'm sure I'll crack and go 50/50 with a friend on a 4pack.

Anyone there last night at the General Store? If so, did they still have bottles of PurPec?

Wasn't there last night but was there a couple nights ago and they had the full shelf quantity stocked like it was just put out.

Good call. This new release format is making it hard to determine how long quantities will last. Lol, I remember waiting in line when the General Store first opened so I wouldn't get shut out of getting anything...smooth move Mav..

Yeah I think there has also been a slight shift in bottle vs can sales right now? They throw the bottles a bunch at a time and they all kind of sit for awhile at the General Store. Maybe it's just the ones they have released there thus far, I just remember waiting for hours for bottles before the Ferm in the good ol days of before chairs line life. Maybe if they did another Emptiness release there or a big stout collab or something then there would be a wait who knows.

Yeah it sounds like Brain Teaser, which was fantastic.

I enjoyed Brain Teaser, just as I enjoyed Go Rid a Bike. Lower alcohol, but they were still damn tasty. And of course, I'm an Alien Church fanboy so I always like fresh AC. I like the Handbeir description too, sounds like a semi-regular release with different ingredients each time. Like.

I've never been as much of a fan of Tired Hands's more restrained offerings. I think there are much better breweries for lighter, dialed-in brews (like Trillium, at the top of the pack). I go to Tired Hands for the big, wacky DIPAs and lactose stuff. Even if they crash and burn every once in a while, sometimes they really excel in that context and I appreciate the ample experimentation.

Excited for Handbier regardless though... and that can art is one of their coolest in a long while.

To respond to what we were discussing before about tap accounts Pinocchio's is going strong with Alien Church and Technicolor Splendor.

they are able to bottle a fuckton of bottles so things don't sell out now... whatever the last emptiness was didn't even sell out without having had the line end then people who got their bottles were allowed to buy whatever remained more or less.. members got 1 and they mentioned it would be 1 pp to gen pop yet gen pop people walked out of there with 12... as if they seemed they wanted the bottles gone to say SOLD OUT!

if/when the magnum program comes to light they may have lines at the cafe like the old days but i wouldn't even count on that

Handbier is a super light session IPA. And it's delicious. They've used the term crushable beforehand, but this may be the beer that defines the word.

I don't think Handbier is as good as I remember Brain Teaser being but it is very good and it's as crushable as advertised. The thing I preferred about Brain Teaser was the extra bite and tartness. These cans will be perfect at the beach this weekend.

Daily Personal Best is a pleasant surprise because the only other triple IPA I'd had from them was the infamous Donut Beer from last year. This is way better than that. DPB is what you'd expect from a higher abv TH beer. It's similar to Oblivex, Refreshing, etc but stepped up a notch keeping the same flavors and the juicy aspect with some extra sweetness and alcohol on the back end. It seems cliche but this is a little dangerous because it's strong but easier to drink than similar strength beers like stouts and barleywines.

Please pardon my rookie question, but if I'm heading down to the General Store or Fermentaria on Sunday for a early afternoon arrival, should I expect a line? Can I buy retail stuff at the Fermentaria? Thanks!

No line unless there's a can release.

I'm actually not sure what they sell anymore at the Fermentaria, you can find all bottles, cans of whatever is in their can fridge and merch in the General Store and then check the taplists for both the cafe and Ferm for growler fills.

Will be interesting to see if the Paras and Emptiness bottles they just teased on Instagram will go on General Store shelves. Would be awesome if that's the case, but I wonder if they'll still be relatively limited and "released" like in the past.
