Really? When did they start that? I had stopped by after the Lemon Meringue release a few weeks ago and simply asked to sample both taps, no token necessary. I was there this past Sunday too, but did not bother with the samples as they were Prima Pils and HopHands.

If Ochre Graves tastes anything like Space Needle (which also had coconut oil, I believe), I'm psyched. With a few weeks of age on it, that beer came super close to replicating the flavor profile of my all-time favorite IPA (Tree House Green ).

so what if I roll in around 430 am with my truck and toss all the chairs in and drive off. I would need to film everyone showing up later in the am.

Been to both spots a few times. Beer is good but cant see a wait in line for it. I have yet to have a beer from TH that I wanted to have again. I have only had 15-20 so maybe something is that good. Price is out of my league so when I do stop by its a treat. I end up at Forest and Main 9 times to every 1 time at TH. I much prefer F&M beers. They are a bit less $ too

    Enjoy

Aren't F & M beers (which I love as well) just as, if not more, pricey? At least all to-go ones, where bottles are regularly $18-$20 and cans are $6 per 16oz.

I dont buy cans/bottles from either place. FM has had bottles while I was there and I wont wait in line at TH. Either way a bit more than I want to spend on bottles. Cans I could be talked into for $14-16 a four pack. Why cans are so much is odd to me. When I was at hoof hearted a 16oz four pack was $12 and very good.

Drink in at FM is $5-6 for a 16oz pour. I also have no problems getting to taste beers before I buy them and the taster pour is a nice size. Maybe I tip well and seem to have the same tender each time, not sure. I also like the FM vibe a bit more but the original TH is a nice spot.

end of the day I visit FM 5-6 times a year and TH 1-2. Both are a treat for me but I like FM better. I have gone back to FM to get a beer again the next day and wish they brewed some beers at least seasonally. TH I have not wanted to do this.

Both make great beer beyond my wallet for the most part but I prefer the FM style more.

    Enjoy

They just keep knocking it out of the park with the can art.

Stopped into the general store last night. Not sure how it is during the day typically, but both times I've stopped in (4:30-6:00 PM on a Monday & Tuesday) it's been dead. I'd imagine it may do better business on can releases and the weekend.

Anyways, picked up a bottle of Exactly, Almost and some HopHands canned on 8/9. Cracked one when I got home, and was disappointed. I know this has been beat to death here, but it's not even close to what it used to be. I'm glad I only got one four pack.

Hopefully Exactly, Almost is solid. Anyone where have it yet?

Picking one up next Monday if it is still there, I assume there was plenty on the shelf?

Because they can. They sold Extra Vanilla this past weekend for $25/pack and not only sold out but turned away a lot of people. All of the trade boards are filled with iso vanilla shake for outrageous prices and other beers, buying straight up on the secondary market is pretty much $40 minimum at this point and I'm sure Tired Hands takes notice. I would like to hope that as prices increase and less people buy, or when production increases and allotments grow then it will come back down, or at least flatline for a bit but tis the world we live in right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if we still double/imperial shakes going for $30 a 4 pack within the year.

Especially if Jean is still getting pressure about the lines from local government and he understands that he won't drastically increase production (slow and steady has always been his motto) so to compromise he is raising prices to try and reduce the number of people. However it is also backfiring as it is driving up trade value (I'm paying close to $30 for this 4 pack, it must be something special and worth something equally as special and therefore seeing it get traded for all kinds of stuff).

    Cheers!

P.S. Did you notice that "Because they can" has a double meaning!?!

Do you swirl the dregs into the beer when you pour it? I've found that can make all the difference in the world with many canned NE IPAs. I had some HopHands last month that was stellar, but even in a week's time a lot of the good stuff can get stuck on the bottom of the can. You gotta pour half, swirl, and then pour the rest. Or perhaps this is just the updated version of "Last year's was better."

I've been to the General Store a few odd times. Sometimes there are several people there, other times it's completely dead and the person working there looks like it has been dead all day. I'm having a hard time believing they sell enough stuff out of that storefront to justify its existence, although I guess if that particular part of the operation exists just to break even it might be doing its job?

No need to swirl. Just store it upside down and give it a good shake before pouring. I do that with all of my hazy/unfiltered freshies.

yeah have to imagine it just doesn't matter if it's dead or not in there... odd but i guess when they've made so much money that they can afford that then it is what it is... $ tree that canning machine has turned out to be
