Who is that guy? Does he work for them? He comments on every post they make on Facebook.

I'm going to TH for the first time tomorrow to grab growlers before the Brand New show. I was going to ship one to a friend in SC but I read on Yelp the way they fill them, they go flat quickly. Is that true? I'm not well versed on growler "mechanics" so any help is appreciated.

I've had growlers from them that were up to five days old and they were perfectly fine.

I have had both extremes, some hold up well and others have been nearly flat the next day.

Recently sent a TH growler to someone. Purchased growler on a Thursday, sat in my fridge until Monday when I shipped it out and then arrived at the recipients location by Wednesday. He said it tasted great, not flat at all.

I've never had a problem with their growlers. I'd advise you to get the flip top ones though if you are shipping. They seem to hold up better

i didnt try the bacon, bread or any other food offerings.

    +1.

For food, beer, and atmosphere, Forest and Main should receive much more love. Forest and Main have produced some great porters and stouts (with Tired Hands really struggling in those styles). Tired Hands clearly produces IPA's in fair abundance which makes it popular. The food at Forest and Main is also really good and you can get a real dinner there.

Definitely a poor man's Hill Farmstead - but with a better location, better atmosphere, better food, and less pretension...

So maybe better than Hill Farmstead? :astonished:

I thought we were on Beer Advocate, not Location Advocate.

Meh. Purely on the beer itself, you're right. HF is better. But BeerAdvocate is as much about breweries and the experience as it is about the beer ratings.

    Otherwise, we'd be RateBeer :astonished:
