Tired Hands (January 2017)

Thank you. I needed this info to convince my wife that I should quit my job and start a brewery.

 

In a past Tired Hands monthly thread somebody posted that the burn was from using mangoes which weren't fully ripe. If that is the root cause then perhaps they are still using less than fully ripe mangos for this latest beer?

I posted an article in one of the last months threads about the use of I believe it was a chemical that ripens or grows the mangos I can't recall. In the article they noted a burning sensation in the back of the throat as a side effect to that.

 

Yeah, that sucks.

 

What's the consensus on growler fills at both the cafe and fermentaria nowadays? I was thinking of swinging by on Friday to get a couple of fills, but the last time I've gotten fills (probably back in 2015 at this point), they were flat within a day or two. Has this been ironed out at both spots by now?

 

I would pass on Growler fills. I went like 9 months without getting one and then got one at the Brew Cafe like 2 months ago and it was flat when I got home. I have not had that much trouble with Growlers from the Ferm in the past but the brew cafe is a shit show IMO.

 

Just filled at the Ferm and three days later was still full carb

Sucks, I had Wednesday planned for months and was off work Thursday until I got hit with a surprise work meeting.

 

Looks like a great lineup and I love this kind of "metal" DIPA trend going on with Oblivex, Big Dream, and now this can.

I've never had The Light That Spills Out of the Hole in your Head before, how were previous batches?

 

Well the OG from the cafe was amazing.

 

They did shirts once upon a time if i remember correctly too.

 

should be a busy release, i'm imagining 2/4pk per style... probably around 150 cs of each maybe a bit less on the Light and a bit more on death tripper. Probably will need to be in the first 380 people to guarantee a full allotment.. don't see much if anything at all making it to the bar this time around

 

Off tomorrow and I have a gift card to use... Should be fun
