Just thinking about something, I haven't filled a single growler since July. I've gone a bunch but haven't felt the beers I had to be worth a fill. The last beer I filled was that coffee IPA which was quite amazing. I really feel the last 6 months have been very lackluster excluding some random draft Milkshakes. I used to fill more than IPAs and loved the variety but something just doesn't pop anymore.

Permit me to explore this 'popping' further. Have you noticed lately (since July?) that the same brands just don't taste the same to you? Is it something beyond this?

    Cheers!

P.S. Let me relate a story. Last night I was at a local beer bar and a young couple standing right next to me ordered two beers and one beer was Tired Hands HopHands. The young fellow took a sip and asked his girlfriend who placed to order: "Are you sure this is HopHands?" She checked the receipt which was on the bar and replied: "Yes, it is HopHands". The fellow replied; "Hmm, it doesn't taste right".

I still get the wow factor in a lot of beers and a lot of beers from breweries I've had repeatedly. I can't put my finger on it and I wasn't trying to start any heated debates. Just looking at it in real terms, I go often enough and I used to never leave without a growler and always took HopHands and these last 6 months I haven't filled a single one. I still get the wow factor in Tired Hands beers I just find them to be fewer and further between as of late.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.

Lately (the last 6+ months or so) I have been drinking more Tired Hands at local beer bars vs. at the Cafe/Fermentaria. This is more convenient for me but needless to say the variety of Tired Hands beers is less this way. I have all too frequently encountered technical brewing quality issues (e.g.,, diacetyl, etc,) and on other occasions beers that just were 'off' a bit. I strongly suspect that the young fellow had an 'off' experience with his pint of HopHands last night.

It is helpful for me to here about the experiences of others like yourself.

    Cheers!

My buddy gave me a couple cans of Technicolor Splendor last night. This is the worst batch to date, and I've had every one so far. Now that is not to say this is a bad beer, it's just not as good as previous batches IMO.

Charging more and cutting quality, the Tired Hands mantra.

edit: My wife, who doesn't really pay attention to which Tired Hands' beers are what, just tried Technicolor and said "gross", when she's had it before and absolutely loved it.

There you have it folks: grimey68's wife, who doesn't really pay attention to which Tired Hands' beers are what, usually loves Technicolor, but just tried it, and said "gross."

In other words, the experts have decided: Technicolor totally sux now, .

Or it could be viewed as a totally independent taste subject, to confirm your thoughts that this batch is off (for whatever reason that may be). My apologies, that might be have been a little too critical of a thought process for you, no?

I'm drinking one this second, it tastes amazing to me and untappd reviews are raving about this batch as well. Not to say anyone is wrong, we have a right to our opinion. My opinion is this batch is drinking amazing.

I guess so! I mean no offense to your wife of course, but no nobody said it was "gross" until she did.

It doesn't lend a lot of credibility to her palate, especially if you said "honey does this taste weird to you?' -> "yeah, it's GROSS!"

    First pour

    Second pour

Surprisingly well incorporated and consistent as opposed to past fruits. Not a drastic difference with the extra little bit of sediment added in from the second pour. This was stored topside up.

Wonder if it is just the specific fruit that causes difference reactions with the pectin, yeast, and hop proteins and all that, causing varying degrees of opacity and/or floater affliction.

    So, you're not married?

Regardless of whatever your answer is, it's the fact that someone else acknowledged the notion that it does not taste the same. Since my initial post, I've had two friends text me and say they thought the same - it's not the same. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that's now 4 people that have thought the same.

Also, here are some pictures of TS in the same exact light, at my home, the past 3 releases.

But yeah, lets discount a woman's opinion because she said gross, rather than tasting notes of honeysuckle, intense under ripe mango, snappy lemon, or whatever other terminology they think up while they're high.

This batch of Technicolor tastes spot on to me. Just like all the other batches I've had.
