There are no lines to speak of for me to get beer. I either walk down to my basement to get my homebrewed beer or I go to my local beer store where maybe there may be one customer in front of me.

    Cheers!

I was simply trying to clarify his specific personal issue/position here. I refuse to in wait lines whether there are chairs involved or not involved.

I am personally an advocate of no lines. Perhaps a ticket system would alleviate lines for some folks?

    Cheers!

I am curious about that as well, I haven't seen anything that says they have increased their brewing capacity, I know they have more barrels and fermenters, but that only adds so much. Haven't heard anything about an expanded brew system. I am just making guesses at this point....

@JackHorzempa I am not big on standing around either..but I believe if people are so enthusiastic about Tired hands beer they should be forced to stand in line the whole time, ain't no half stepping.

I would advocate Tired Hands only release single four pack of each beer per person making it not worthwhile to camp out but they seem to be addicted to the hype also.

Under the present system wouldn't that just make the line longer? More folks would show up since at an allocation of one 4-pack per person you could be four blocks away and still feel confident that there will be beer for you.

Based upon my reading of posts in these threads, the length of line seems to be somewhat self-regulated where people will decide that if they can't get there by 4:xx or 5:xx will decide to just not come since they are guessing that by that time there is little likelihood that beer will be there by the time they have worked their way to the front. If the allotments were reduced they would change their thinking in this case.

    Cheers!

My hope for the new location is that they are able in some way to set up taps there for growler fills but I can't even begin to think about the logistics of sending a random amount from the other locations there to sell so I don't think that's it. What I do think is that they are not selling out of bottles (at least not the specialty ones) that quickly anymore and they want somewhere else to sell them and merch so that the staff can just serve people at the bar and fill growlers. @JackHorzempa I definitely agree and also get beer from my basement / beer stores but this is the tired hands line thread, I mean beer thread.

No Jack there would be no line, the beer would last for days and you wouldn't have to line up if Tired Hands did this.

@heavyspaghetti I joked around about doing what you did in either the November or December thread, can't remember but I did not have the huevos to follow through, nor do I think it was my stand to make because I can only get there early once in a blue moon to actually stand in line. this whole thing is so dumb.

i agree, i think if they limited the allotments people would come and go as they please, sure 50-60 will still line up but I bet it wouldn't be more than that.

Also the reasons that I say this whole thing is dumb is because it is, I'm sure none of us actually want to go out in the snow, or any time, and wait in line for beer. Also this is going to be the status quo until they increase production, it is what it is.

Third, whenever I joke around about this at home my wife yells "but they are substitute goods!" and rolls her eyes. Then I calmly explain to her how popular Pokemon Go was (is?) and that we must tick them all.

Permit me to make a suggestion for this new location.

Make the weekly canned beer releases to be a ticketed event whereby any customer with a ticket would need to purchase their beer anytime between 4:00 and X:XX of the day of the release. Any unsold beer from that release will be taken to the new location to be sold on a first come first served basis starting at a time of Jean’s choosing (maybe at noon the next day?).

This system would be more civilized for the day of the release but I am uncertain how the leftover sales situation would be.

Make it a policy that no chairs are permitted outside of the new location when the leftovers (if they exist) would be sold.

    Cheers!

I think that's awesome, and it cracks me up when the people with chairs down bitch about line cutters! Thanks for doing that and thanks for posting.

Maybe you have come upon the answer on why there is a new Tired Hands location opening? Maybe this is what they will do there?

    Cheers!

Thank you everyone for your understanding and positivity. To be honest, without reading some of these posts in months past, i wouldn't have worked up the courage to challenge it. I truly belive that in order to change this, we need to be as vocal as possible about it, while still being couerteous and respectful.

I probably won't be spending my money at TH anytime soon, but am looking forward to putting that time and energy into homebrewing instead.

trick question - they are not hazy IPAs in 16 oz cans, so no one cares!

They still get pretty big crowds for their bottles and only void as well. They produce some of the best saisons.

I do not disagree that their saisons and stouts are good beers. But bottles of saison are routinely available at the bar, and people bypass them when lining up for IPAs.
