Growler Filling Policy: "Please feel free to fill as many growlers as you would like. In Pennsylvania, each transaction must be limited to 192 fluid ounces. This means that upon receipt, if you would like to purchase more than 192 fluid ounces of our beer, you must leave the premises and then return to pick up additional beer (and then repeat the cycle if you’d like any more beer!).

We will also be opening up for 64 oz growler fills on MOST ALL BEERS. There will, of course, continue to be a few beers that we will not do any growler fills of (one-off kegs, anniversary beers, etc.), but this should be a rare occurrence.

We will continue to fill our branded glassware only, as we are STILL exceedingly proud to put our name on our Strange & Beautiful beer. If this is a very big issue for you, we will be happy to let you “trade-in” any growler for one of ours. Sound good?"

    Growler fill Prices
    64 oz:
    $20.00
    32 oz: $10.50
    Glass: $5.00

(prices vary occasionally for higher gravity / limited quantity beers)

Do we think we'll be getting a normal Wednesday can release with the holiday? Or perhaps a Thursday release instead?

I would think not on Wednesday, so maybe Thursday? No word yet today on IG.

New year, new shake? Would be one hell of a way to start. I had that Pineapple DIPA this weekend at the Café.. that may be the best fruited DIPA they have put out to date.

Island for One? yeah that looked great. I think Hail Santa was probably one of my favorite recent cans, had a great pine note, and some sweet fruit while still being a smoother ipa.

Last year the New Year’s week release was on Thursday, and it was a doozy. Eviscerated Pathway, Death Tripper, and Light that Spills

This article slipped by me last year and the further it gets into the streetwear culture the further it gets into current craft beer culture lol. Replace Supreme with Tired Hands and there you go: https://www.wired.com/2017/05/using-bots-to-buy-supreme-limited-edition-streetwear/

"That in-on-the-joke mentality, as well as the clannish nature of streetwear cool, has created a decades-long frenzy surrounding Supreme’s weekly releases. Traditionally, lines would crawl two blocks out from the New York flagship store on Wednesday afternoon to secure Thursday-morning releases. (“That’s the Apple Store,” I once overheard one oblivious tourist tell another as they walked by on drop-day eve.) Recently, though, to appease its SoHo neighbors, Supreme organized a ticketing process: People show up to a designated park, where security guards hand out a limited number of entry tickets. The parks too have become mob scenes."

"When the company first considered its ecommerce site, Jebbia wanted it to remain elusive and on brand. So he decided that new releases would go online only on Thursdays, and only at 11 am. (Jebbia ignored multiple interview requests for this story.) With that he created a culture; the customers knew when to come back, over and over again, and they understood that they would find something new every time. Scarcity and consistency drove the market, even online."

    Here's to a chiller 2018!

I'm loving Hail Santa, great beer. I also will say this last batch of Refreshing is freaking amazing.

Pineapple sounds amazing. Wonder if the cold will deter anyone

Pineapple was delicious last year but honestly it makes me appreciate their beers, and others, that tap into that pineapple goodness with those galaxy hops vs adding fruit.

Ugh. Damn it. Could probably show up at 6+ and at least get Alien Church. I might be okay with that...

Like pineapple but unwilling to deal with this release as the earliest I could get there is 4:15.

So I am considering going...this would be my first TH release. How chaotic is this going to be, and what is the recommended time of arrival to guarantee I get my hands on some milkshake?

It's not really "chaotic", it's all just lines. A lot will depend on allotments and what time you have to be in line. If decent allotments (over 500-600) then you can probably get in line at 6 and still get cans. It will be cold, and that will factor in, but no way to tell how much. If you are in line at 5, pretty much a guarantee you'll get cans if they have 500 or so allotments. It will be a long, cold line though.

Thanks for the insight. I've heard that placing a chair in line does actually hold your place. Does this hold true for Milkshake releases as well? I'm used to Other Half lines where I think if someone put a chair down and left, it would get tossed to the side.

Yes it will hold your place in line and honestly for a day like today it's probably a blessing given the temps. Drop a chair and head to the ferm haha, just be mindful of the clock because before they open the doors for the release they will condense the line and if you aren't at your chair by then....

Are weekday shake usually more or less crowded than weekend releases? Only ever been to weekend releases and while the line was super long, it moved quickly. Thinking about going today but I wouldn't get there til 3PM
