Growler Filling Policy: "Please feel free to fill as many growlers as you would like. In Pennsylvania, each transaction must be limited to 192 fluid ounces. This means that upon receipt, if you would like to purchase more than 192 fluid ounces of our beer, you must leave the premises and then return to pick up additional beer (and then repeat the cycle if you’d like any more beer!).

We will also be opening up for 64 oz growler fills on MOST ALL BEERS. There will, of course, continue to be a few beers that we will not do any growler fills of (one-off kegs, anniversary beers, etc.), but this should be a rare occurrence.

We will continue to fill our branded glassware only, as we are STILL exceedingly proud to put our name on our Strange & Beautiful beer. If this is a very big issue for you, we will be happy to let you “trade-in” any growler for one of ours. Sound good?"

    Growler fill Prices
    64 oz:
    $20.00
    32 oz: $10.50
    Glass: $5.00

(prices vary occasionally for higher gravity / limited quantity beers)

How's the Double Strawberry Milkshake IPA?

I didn't think the single version had much, if any, strawberry.

It definitely has strawberry. It's a little too sweet or something for me though. Extra Vanilla still my favorite.

Had Double Strawberry on draft at the Brew Cafe and just had a can. Loved both and I'm not even a huge fan of strawberry. I thought the strawberry was pretty subtle. Still prefer the Kalamansi and vanilla/double vanilla. And still much prefer the Tired Hands non-milkshake offerings.

I've only tried a few shakes, but haven't been blown away. I filled a growler of Wish Fulfillment at the Ferm and that blew me away and has quickly become my new fav. So many good IPAs to choose from that don't need lactose to be praised

    Hi Pennsylvanians,

Wife and I are planning a lunch on Wednesday ad the Fermentaria. We're coming from CT en route to Va, with a night in Philly first. I know (hope) there might be a release that day, and the wife has done her share of beer release lines, but I was wondering how that might affect our ability to sit and have lunch. Do most people who wait for cans just split after? Would I have to wait in line first, then get a table? Also, if I get there around noon, is it even worth it to wait for cans? So many questions...

Cans aren't released until 5. For you, this means that you shouldn't have trouble getting a table for lunch. But, you're going to have to wait around if you want to wait for the cans that are (probably going to be) released that day. The Ferm is more crowded on release days obviously, but it shouldn't be prohibitive. Also note: if that timing doesn't work into your schedule, be sure to stop by the General Store as they'll have HopHands cans to go, as well as a variety of their bottled offerings for sale.

Just drop a chair (or two) in line as soon as you get there and then go have lunch. Just be aware you'll have to wait until 5 (or later depending on how far back you are) to get your cans.

That said with the holiday this week I wouldn't be surprised if the can release is Thursday. But as William mentioned, you should be able to get HopHands in the General Store.

Was there on Friday and got a growler of Wish Fulfillment as well. One the best TH I've had thus far. Hope they can it soon!

Thanks guys. I did see Hop Hands sold out. Is it safe to assume there will be more Wednesday, and I can fill growlers during pre-can times right? No way we're sticking around til 5...any other non-TH beers I should be scouring Philly for that night?

Also, and I'm not sure if this is appropriate here, but I have some Treehouse and other stuff from home if anyone wants to shoot me a message for an IP...

You can fill growlers at all hours of operation at the BrewCafé and the Fermentaria. Stopping through on Wednesday means that the Fermentaria will be your only option for growlers before 4pm. The General Store has all of the bottles mentioned in previous threads. If it is your first time then make sure to grab a bottle of Shambolic or Ourison. It is safe to assume that with the holiday the can release will be Thursday this week but you never know!

As for other breweries/beers...keep an eye out for any Forest & Main beers, and maybe stop in to Second District in South Philly for a few beers and a snack.

5pm on a Tuesday (albeit the 4th), no announcement, so guess that means either...

    a) Surprise milkshake release tomorrow (Weds), or...
    b) Thurs release

Assuming the latter, since we just had a milkshake release.

Really hoping for a lower key Thursday release. I'm visiting Friday and picking up cans would be nice. Also this is one of the labels MikeIllustrated showed a while back. You can basically see when a new TH beer is coming from his Instagram.
