I agree, the chair thing is a little ridiculous. Shouldn't be allowed

I understand why they allow the chairs. The alternative would be a large crowd of people which would probably end up looking like an Other Half line. While that may make sense in Brooklyn, I have a hard time believing Ardmore would be cool with 500+ people hanging out and getting drunk and generally being loud for hours on end before a release. The chairs don't make noise and they don't drink, I'm sure the city and Tired Hands knows what would happen if they were populated by beer enthusiasts.

Plenty of chairs out already without confirmation if there's even a release today

There was at least one person that posted in the FT forum too, trading the yet to be released or announced beer.

Curious if they're just gonna spring it on us as a noon release, or do 5pm and give everyone time to queue up. I believe the last few Sunday releases have been noon? But they have done 5pm Sundays too.

And another price increase. Not a double shake but still $24

Hard to tell how long the line is since it's wrapping differently. Going east this time, down Athens (away from Cricket)...looks like it's almost in Wynnwood now.

I wonder at what point it becomes too much for most people. Based on the price increases we've seen in less than a year, could we be looking at near $30 4-packs next summer? Regular shakes were $20 at this point last year. It's starting to get a bit ridiculous.

I thought Ardmore outlawed the chairs - did the town reverse course?

But there is a long line of folks today willing to pay the "ridiculous" prices.

    Cheers!

It's as long as ever out here for a milkshake. The trickle-up pricing does not seem to affect the turnouts at all.

Oh, I'm well aware of that.

The steady price increases will likely weed out those who actually drink the beer if the prices become high enough (generally speaking, I realize that won't be the case for all who can afford it). I don't think the traders and resellers will mind at all since they merely trade it away or sell it for more than they paid anyway.

I guess I really don't mind so much if it's just the shakes that become so high in price. Now that we're at $24 for regular shakes, the doubles should be at $28. If that's not the case in the near future, then the doubles seem to be a better value based on the pricing last year.

    Recording for posterity...

In line at 10:10, beer in hand at 1. Not a huge amount left. Guessing it'll be sold out by 2.

You bring up a good point concerning the aspect of the traders. As the prices continue to increase it may be the case there will be more traders in line vs. folks who are purchasing for their own consumption. Hell, this may already be the case?:astonished:

    Cheers!

Pretty smooth release today. Arrived at 7:30 had a nice little share with some friends. Purchased cans quickly, great lunch at the Ferm. Arrived home by 2:30. I can get used to Sunday releases.

Got in line around 12:35-40 and was out by 1:25 ish. Went to the Brew Cafe at opening to have a pour and see if I wanted the cans. Needless to say, I really enjoyed it and decided to get some. Very lemony, slightly tart with all of the classic "milkshake" supporting flavors.

Yeah all Milkshakes are definitely not created equal, but this is a good one. I preferred the Anniversary one, but still very good. I actually thought the lemon is a little more understated than the fruit components are usually in these, but I agree with the commenter above about the slight tartness that adds a lot to the mix.
