So how do I know what Parageusia I'm drinking? I tried searching the forums but could find what I'm looking for. Or does it even matter?

I used Untappd to try to find similar bottles

Thanks Nick, I'm 99% positive I found it, Parageusia47, most likely the worst in the series

Depends on the color on the label/wax. If the label is multicolored and no wax then it is 47 which many would say in not indicative of the rest of the para series.

Next Monday the CSA starts and the hours posted to pick up your package is 6-9PM. Does anyone have experience w this process? How flexible are the staff? Are IDs required at pickup?
My wife works nearby until 9pm on Mondays and I’m unsure if I’ll need to trek over there separately within the 3 hour window. I’ve tried to contact them via email on and did not get a response

Did you try calling? Probably easier to get in touch with the right person that way.

I did the CSA last year and am signed up again this year and will be posting hauls like last year. Basically a representative from the farm, one of the farmers usually but it's been a year since we've chatted, is just sitting with a list at one of the front high tops at the Ferm. You get checked off a list but I don't believe I was ever asked to present ID. Last year there was one time where I didn't get there until 845 or so and the farmer had left but they still got me my order from the back though that was one time and it was still in the allotted window.

Also last year was capped at 30 people so they get to know you after a while.

Its been a good while since I've been able to make it up to Tired Hands, but my wife will be stopping by on Friday. I'm planning to stock up on some Ourison, but I see that there are 15 different bottles available at the general store right now. Anyone have any thoughts on which ones are the standouts? I've had Sticky Drippy Crystals and Freedom From the Known (and Ourison). The bottles available are:

    Sticky Drippy Crystals
    Tom's Hands
    Rhubarb and Elderflower
    SEHT
    Ourison
    Shimmering
    Peach Endoused
    Dualism
    Frequency Illusion; Merlot
    Spring
    Summer
    Fall
    Wiccan Worship Circle
    Freedom From the Known
    Prayer Group

Tom's Hands (on draft) was a standout for me but certainly one of the more costly bottles. Frequency Illusion is a personal favorite and a bottle I'm glad to have multiples of. Prayer Group is always fantastic, especially at the price point.

As an aside, TH recently did an event with Hungry Pigeon and had a keg of Corralet. Would anticipate seeing that in bottles again soon.

This year's Freedom from the Known was a huge disappointment.

Prayer Group is fantastic. It's a standout on price, if nothing else.

I had the Frequency Illusion on tap and really enjoyed it.

I have a feeling the bottles sitting on the shelf forever is a side effect of the ridiculous success of the canning line. But the bottles are just too expensive. I'd love it if they'd use some of that Milkshake money to make the bottles cheaper. As long as SaisonHands and some other killer saisons are available for growler fills, it's hard to justify paying significantly more money for a lesser quantity of beer.

That's still the January batch of prayer group. I was hesitant to grab it last week. I know it's bottle conditioned beer but 6 months seemed long to me for a lager. Have you drank that batch recently?

I'll pick one up this week and report back as I also recommend that beer and it's brother Wiccan Worship Circle.

I scored the Parageusia47 a 3.77 which I thought was generous. Had it not been from Tired Hands I think others might have scored it the same way. Too many rose colored glasses with Tired Hands beers lately, and more importantly, too many lackluster beers. They need to get their mojo back.

Wasn't Para47 released well over 2 years ago? Not sure it's the best indicator of the quality of current bottles.

I'm not just talking about bottles or cans, I'm referring to draft as well. "I Love You Honey" for example, was OK, even very good, but not nearly as good as it should have been considering the effort that went into it. I feel like there needs to be some refocusing going on, rather than just plowing ahead. That worked early on but now they've got to get it together. Am I wrong? There have been plenty of posts just in this thread that have said things like "disappointing" and "not as good as it used to be".

By the way, I didn't buy that Para47 two years ago, I bought it at the General Store last summer. I had no idea how old it was. If age is a problem I put it 100% on them as nothing was listed on their description of it. And it was expen$ive.
