The majority of the beers on the market.

When it comes to prices, breweries like Tree House, Trillium, Tired Hands are in the very upper percentile of beer prices.

    Cheers!

Who's the dickhole that threw trash in the compost bins?

Would you go on a car forum and complain that BMWs are unreasonably priced because most other cars are cheaper?

I don't view Tired Hands as making the "BMW" of beers.

They certainly make high quality beers (when they don't have technical brewing flaws like perceptible diacetyl) but so does Firestone Walker, Victory,...

Feel free to have a differing opinion here.

    Cheers!

Yeah, I think there are essentially two craft beer markets these days - the widely distributed "shelf" (for lack of a better word) beer market, and the hyper fresh brewery only market.

So 680 allotments of the Double Extra Vanilla Milkshake...is that the most they've ever had of one beer? Should make it to the bar.

But that would include getting growlers from Brewpubs, right?

About a month ago I got a 64 ounce growler of Sly Fox Tettnang Keller Pils for 8 bucks. That beer was significantly cheaper than the Tired Hands Pilsner and of much higher quality. To use car manufacturer analogies:
    • Sly Fox Tettnang Keller Pils is a Rolls Royce
    • Tired Hands Trendler Pils is a Honda Accord
    Cheers!

If there are beers you like just as much (or more) that cost less, why do you care what prices Tired Hands charges for their beer? If you like Honda better than BMW, do you complain about the price of BMWs when you come home from the Honda dealership?

Just my preference that they be priced more economically.

One more time: "Feel free to have a differing opinion here."

    Cheers!

I was just pointing out that there were two markets, not that one is better than the other. But in your example I would say the Tettnang is the Honda Accord and the Trendler is the Rolls Royce because the Honda Accord is the better car, but the Rolls Royce costs more.

No - they have had 800 allotments in the past for only void and I think the last few milkshakes were in the 700+ range. Could make it to the bar, but doubtful

Sly Fox has more than 4 times the brewing capacity that Tired Hands does, and doesn't devote nearly as much space and time to barreling and other assorted activities, so the economics of the two are not really comparable.

Nevertheless, given the lines that show up to buy cans at Tired Hands, you can't credibly say they aren't pricing their beer economically. If anything, some beers are probably priced too low.

How do you guys feel about Alien Church? Never had it, and I've heard conflicting opinions. Wondering if I should try to pick up a 4 pack since I still have enough beer from the last time I went.

    Fair enough.

I was just posting to state my opinion that the "hyper fresh brewery market" does not have to constitute $24 for 64 ounces of beer.

Every person gets to choose how they spend their money. Also, every person is permitted to have an opinion on what "economically" means.

    The beauty of free speech!!

    Cheers!

When that beer is 'on' it is a very, very good beer.
I mostly enjoyed the batches of Alien Church but there was one batch that I did not enjoy. So, as you can read I am personally a bit "conflicted" here.

    Cheers!

The latest batch (prior to today) I got 2 weeks ago or so was/is excellent.
