Point re-enforced, glad i could help. this would be the point where i would point out that we are not 99% of beer drinkers on this forum and some other elitist nonsense but it's friday and i'm kicking my feet up.

If you want to try Tired Hands beer you don't need to stand in line. Just visit either of the locations for a few pints and some food. Or if you are in Philly proper, check out one of the bars that has some on tap: http://www.tiredhands.com/findourbeer/

I was in line right behind that chair if it was the one at the apartments on Cricket below Athens. He dropped then left. When the line started moving, I walked right by it as did the rest of the line. It was his own fault...not to mention I was only there like 20 minutes before the line started moving. Again, serves him right.

There was a drone flying around yesterday following the line, it was going up and down the no name alley just as it started raining. Thank god it didn't rain enough to really soak us. By the time we got up to Cricket Terrace the rain had all but stopped. Dogded a bullet there.......soaking wet AND cold? Ugggghhhhh.

3? Most times I've been there it's been 2. I've only seen 3 once.....2 yesterday. Honestly? One thing that hurts the line speed is the free 2 ounce pour of sample beer. Yesterday the girl was fumbling a lot with the pours and the line leading up to it was packed all the way to the door. After she got my pour, I moved literally right to the register just as the guy in front of me was done checking out.

Wait, so Tired Hands has shown that brewers can sell beer at those prices, Victory decides to dip a toe in and try something new as a result, and that's a bad thing? If Victory's beer is good and different from their usual offerings, isn't that a benefit to craft beer drinkers out by Downingtown who now have something new (and fresh) available to them?

I don't know what the exact cost structure is for a small brewery to run a canning line, but I would imagine it's not cheap. I have no idea what others would be charging if Tired Hands didn't exist, but maybe those guys wouldn't be selling cans at all. Or wouldn't be brewing. I've never had Levante or Stable 12, but I do know that Conshy Brewing cans are nice to have around.

Even among Beer Advocate users, what percentage do you think are willing to stand in line for beer? I would guess that it's less than 5%. I just don't think it should "normalized".

It's not that they brewed a new beer, it's the pricing and artificial scarcity that is bad for beer drinkers. They are capable of brewing Dirtwolf to sell retail at ~$50 a case (after 2 rounds of markup). Why would I want them to sell me a similar beer at double that?

Victory already had brewpub exclusive beers on tap for their local patrons. Releasing only 50 cases (divided between 3 locations) of a non barrel-aged beer was totally unnecessary.

It's not that hard to find fresh beer from local breweries at your local beer distributor - I've often bought cases of beer that are only a week or two old. This idea that Tired Hands pushes that beer needs to be bought the same day it's canned is silly.

If a small brewery can't package beer at a reasonable price, there is no reason for consumers to bail them out. Brewpubs have business models that work just fine without canning or bottling beer.

The difference is Conshohocken cans sell for like $10 a 4 pack through normal distribution in retail stores. They aren't trying to jump on the bandwagon of "limited can releases" with jacked up prices.

    In other news, I noticed
There were 3 when I got to the front yesterday. I do wonder about the sampler. They should experiment a time or two without it.

In other news, I noticed (while it's only 274 ratings so far), the Double Vanilla is the highest rated milkshake on Untappd right now.

I think this batch is one of their best. Even still for me it was completely overshadowed by the double vanilla.

Trust me I wish it wasn't this way. This was my third time waiting because normally I don't leave work till 5 and get there around 6 but I had the opportunity yesterday to get my crew together for some beers and this double vanilla is fantastic.

The Alien Church is once again awesome. It's consistently one of their best beers. Love it.

Drinking a can of the Double Vanilla right now after having it on draft yesterday and it might be even better on day 2. Doesn't have that vanilla bean bite on the finish. Curious how this holds up. Best milkshake IMO (Kalamansi close second).

Yep, double vanilla from the can slays the tap version.
