Have there been misses or batches that weren't perfect sure but it's nothing like many of the constant complainers make it out to be. In no way was the latest batch of pineal horrific but like you that's my opinion and everone is entitled to one

Unfortunately I agree with you on the QA/QC issues. I was hoping that it was just 'start up' issues of a new brewhouse (Fermentaria) but the second location has been open so long that this explanation is not valid.

I am still hoping that these continuing issues can and will be fixed since Tired Hands beers are so good when they are 'on'.

I suspect that a countervailing situation here is that Tired Hands 'sells out' no matter how the beers are. When folks experience a bad batch there seems to be zero diminishment of the rabid enthusiasm to buy Tired Hands beers (e.g., the lines are just as long if not longer for the next can release). Maybe Jean just figures that as long as customers are enthusiastically willing to hand over 14,16,18,20,22 and 24 bucks for a 4-pack of beers that business as usual is copacetic?

I really don't know what the 'answer' is here but I sure hope that things change for the better (soon).

    Cheers!

So if Sunday it also coincides with the half acre collab can and bottle release too?

I think Sunday's out with that Heavy Gem stuff dropping. That might be a little too crazy.

I dont understand how they are going to handle two releases in (lets guess) a 96 hour span (Thursday Shake + Budino (or Void or whatever) as well as the Heavy Gem release. Why would they not space those out like 2-3 weeks apart nevermind 2-3 days.

I don't think it would be any different than any other Wednesday or Thursday/Sunday release. Will people really go crazy for that Heavy Gem stuff? Doesn't interest me at all.

Not sure. We don't even know what it is yet other than new beer from somebody.

Couldn't agree more and I'm in lines 90% of the time... that Pineal was brutal! And they upped the allot day of pre-7pm, which I don't think they've ever done before.... a bit odd...

QA is BADDD recently. I've had buttery cans of Extra Knuckle & Brain Teaser. Alien Church / Hop Hands are shells of their former selves. Trendler is the most consistent beer they put out. Sychte was awesome and so was Severed Goddess Hands, so unfortunately I'll keep heading back, but at this point, it's a bit embarrassing given their scale/revenues/$$ and you'd hope they want to always want to can the best stuff possible.

Bottles aside from Bloom have been pretty weak (all of the Ourison variants, W/N, the disaster that was RW O/V)..

Don't really seen Jean there ever anymore

Do you think that is the reason for the QA/QC issues; lack of oversight?

    Cheers!

Yeah - it is pretty disappointing.... was really hoping it would be offered to members. But bottles haven't been nearly as popular, so hopefully it will stick around a bit

I think the QC issues stem from the fact that at the heart of things Jean probably is a bit in over his head. It's really not surprising. They went from a very small, very controlled format to a larger one in a very short time. Production quantity has grown substantially and I don't think they fully understand everything involved in that type of transition. I can see them thinking they'd figure it out as they went along to, why mess with it if the beer sells? This is just a hypotheses, not based on anything factual really.

I also thought that the collab they did before, American something or other, American Youth was just ok.

Any website that autoplays music is.

I almost always love Tired Hands quirky labels and Half Acre's stuff as well but the Virga label seems off.

I'm pretty sure that was just a 50/50 mix of HopHands and Daisy Cutter. I thought it was better than either on their own.

i don't expect one either.. not TH beer technically... all i can hope for at this point with ~2 months left till my tier II expires is that the believers only bottle is a hit... the one from last year is the best beer TH has made in a long time

their IPA's have been disappointing lately in so far as how many are hits.. when the canning first started things were pretty damn good.. then it kind of leveled out.. now it to me is starting to bottom out.. it's like 1 out of 5 cans is something i'd want or willing to try to track down or make a trip over... at least the candied bacon is still good.. really that draws me over to TH more then a lot of the beer these days

when TH hits on a ipa/saison etc whatever they hit big.. it reminds me of how good they can be.. but it's just flashes in the pan these days compared to how it was before the Ferm opened and things were smaller.. Seems that the focus is all over the place these days... not saying it's easy to run a business as it grows but maybe trying to grow a bit too much too fast.. maybe they had too much too fast... Or just over played their part
