Can't we all make this statement!?!:flushed:
The best I can report is that I have 'stored' Milkshake beers for several (e.g., 3-4 months) with good effect. Frankly, the idea of going longer than this has never occurred to me. Maybe some other BAs will report that these sorts of beers are 'good' for longer than what I reported?

    Cheers!

If my memory serves me correctly, you would have have this same experience at the 1 month mark as that shake and the blueberry pancake shake both had floaters rather quickly.

Speaking of milkshakes, IG comments have hinted towards a release this Sunday. Anyone have any insight or intel on this? May just be random guesses but I wasn't sure if shakes were usually released on a loose schedule (every 6 weeks for example)

Made the trek last night to grab the tea DIPA and I'm glad I did. Easily the best in the Pink Moon series and one of the better Hands beers I've had recently. The Neck Bus DIPA that was tapped yesterday was also pretty great.

Has anyone cracked a can of the latest DDH Pineal recently? I'm not sure if it's the dry-hopping schedule, but this beer does not taste nearly as good now as it did fresh. Initially I thought it was the star of the release, but now I'm glad I only grabbed one 4-pack.

I understand that this is a crazy short time-line. But I'm just being honest. I taste a serious decline in only a week and some days.

I’m in agreement. That batch of Pineal tasted amazing off the bat, and when I cracked one two nights ago, not only was it a shadow of its former self, the color was darker as well. My guess is the effect of the honey, but who knows?

Those are tell tale signs of oxidation (staling). Maybe there was a production/packaging issue with this batch?

    Cheers!

Really liking the new can site with regular updates. Nice to know what is still available.

It's completely possible. My initial thought was maybe a bad can, but I'm pretty convinced there was an problem with packaging. I can't think of a good reason why this batch would turn bad so quickly when others have held up. The double dry hopping shouldn't have any effect, and the honey addition was the same as it always was.

Oh well. You win some, you lose some. I've had worse, and I still have not come across a beer I will pour down the drain. It just seems wrong to dump something someone worked hard on.

If done properly you would like to think that to be the case. When you 'open' the fermentor to add the dry hops there is always a risk of adding 'extra' air (oxygen).

FWIW, when I homebrew I personally choose to solely perform one dry hop addition. I prefer to not open my fermentor more than once in order to minimize the exposure of the beer to air (oxygen).

I have no way of knowing the specific process that Tired Hands uses to dry hop their beers. Maybe they have a way to do this whereby the beer is not exposed to air (oxygen)?

    Cheers!

Awesome, let's spread Internet rumors of an oxidized batch of beer.

Suffice it to say, commercial breweries generally have methods of adding dry hops without introducing oxygen into the beer. This is absurd.

So that corned beef reuben they had going on Saturday at the Ferm was incredible. Definitely a one-off I'd really love to see as a regular menu item.

From the Morning to me is like a better Pineal, thicker mouthfeel and more honey. Not really getting much tea but more that the ingredients seem to blend together well.

Presumably a Thurs release this week? Based on recent snowstorm precedent.

i've had recent TH cans where stuff has leaked out from the lid seal.. it's quite possible they have some issues in getting an air tight seal in their fastening of their lids

An occasional faulty lid is a much more likely cause for an "off" can than the ridiculous "oxidation" claims being tossed out above.

My brother-in-law once went to open a can of HopHands I gave him, and the whole lid came off when he pulled the tab. I too have gotten an occasional can that has dried beer on it that looks like a leak.

It’s not ridiculous to say an improperly sealed can is oxidized. That’s exactly what is happening.

Awesome, darker "prayer group" hitting the general store. I can't believe I'm conditioned to say it's a steal at $10 a bottle.
