Growler Filling Policy: "Please feel free to fill as many growlers as you would like. In Pennsylvania, each transaction must be limited to 192 fluid ounces. This means that upon receipt, if you would like to purchase more than 192 fluid ounces of our beer, you must leave the premises and then return to pick up additional beer (and then repeat the cycle if you’d like any more beer!).

We will also be opening up for 64 oz growler fills on MOST ALL BEERS. There will, of course, continue to be a few beers that we will not do any growler fills of (one-off kegs, anniversary beers, etc.), but this should be a rare occurrence.

We will continue to fill our branded glassware only, as we are STILL exceedingly proud to put our name on our Strange & Beautiful beer. If this is a very big issue for you, we will be happy to let you “trade-in” any growler for one of ours. Sound good?"

    Growler fill Prices
    64 oz:
    $20.00
    32 oz: $10.50
    Glass: $5.00

(prices vary occasionally for higher gravity / limited quantity beers)

Details finally emerging for the General store.

Will be nice to have some cans available at all times, even if it is just hop hands and a lager. Hopefully if will expand to alien church as well.

Perhaps this is why there hasn't been a bottle release in, what, 4 months? Maybe they're saving them to just sell at the General Store.

That's a strong possibility - plus the releases come in waves, it seems like when they release it is like 4 in a row. Also really nice that the yields for bottles are higher and stick around more. They are some of the best beers they make

    Agreed on all points.

Well, price complainers - now you know where the money goes and why they charge such a premium on their beer. That barrel program doesn't look all that much smaller than the one at freaking Allagash.

    But, but, but:

“Being a "General" Store, we will also be selling a number of things that have some resonance in our culture (gems, synths, plants, etc, etc, etc).”

Paying over 20 bucks for a four-pack of beer and then being able to buy gems is a ‘good’ investment, isn’t it?:astonished:

    Cheers!

I am not sure here. I have seen the term "synth" as being short-hand for a musical synthesizer but I do not think that is what is intended here.

    Do you have any guesses?

    Cheers!

I am guessing synthesizers on that actually. Maybe some keytars

From what I heard - they are going to sell random stuff that Jean is interested in - like the gems, plants, synths.

I'd slow down with that comparison.

"We go through about 150 barrels per month in order to keep up with demand for Curieux." That's just for one of Allagash's many barrel aged beers.

Is "gems" a slang term for something? Or are they just referring to gemstones?

I feel like an old man asking that question but I am flammoxed that a brewery would also be selling rocks.

I am not 100% sure, but I am guessing it isn't slang for anything, but referring to actual rocks and gems. Guessing like a holistic section with some big Himalayan salt lamps and such. Wouldn't be shocked to see the occasional sensory analysis glass as well

FWIW I feel like I am 'out of touch' here as well.

I would be a happy customer if they just sold consistently good beer (with a personal preference for lower prices).

Oh well, I suppose this is the New Wave Beer Scene!?!

    Cheers!

They're not far off from soda with all the sweetened fruit drinks they sell.
