I really do not know. Regardless do they want to cross-infect the beers they bottle?

    Cheers!

I don't think that's a major worry, I doubt anybody would notice if one of their saisons started to develop flavors from their Emptiness culture, there's a good chance that it would even have a positive effect.

The best that I can respond to your post is that as a homebrewer I would personally be concerned about cross-contamination.

Needless to say I have no idea what the Manager of Brewing Operations at Tired Hands thinks on this topic.

    Cheers!

Wait so la cabra has a ne ipa right now? I'm opening a crowler of Leo this weekend but that seemed like more of a west coast beer.

Lacabra was a cool place but I wasn't overly impressed with their beer. Food was great though and I'd definitely go back.

They are still new so I'm sure their beer will improve with time.

Yeah, you can buy a 12 pack of Victory Prima Pils (12 oz) cans for about the same price. More than twice the amount of beer.

Yes, he built a local reputation with his homebrewed sours:

And Prima Pils is a better Pils.

That said, I don't want Tired Hands to give up on their lagers, because I think they're very solid. I've had the Helles cans and the Trendler Pils and Trendler Rauch on-tap and they're completely creditable. But yeah...it's a rough value proposition on the cans.

Sterling Pig, 2SP, Levante, La Cabra, Stickman, Hidden River, new spots in the city, other new ones popping up along the 422 corridor. I know there is a thread dedicated to this but outside of Hidden River I haven't heard any hype to ease the pressure off of Tired Hands in the area. I think to do that you would what, need to be canning or bottling trade bait? Don't get me wrong I have heard decent things about all of these places but nothing to get me to travel really other than stopping in once to check out the place and all of those are within my same radius as Tired Hands. I have coworkers who stop by Hidden River to get growlers for me because I work near there but live nowhere near there and their hours are conducive to stopping by on the way home but so far they are the ones that will make me make the trip someday.

Søle seems on the cusp of matching Tired Hands in terms of hype/release lines.

True forgot about them though because they are a couple hours away.

eh.... idk they are a bit out of the way for a lot of people. I don't know any of my Nj people who hit a lot of tired hands things that have hit any sole things... i'm not going to speak on the hype/release but i can't say i've seen sole cans trading nationally for anything.

until something else in the area trades nationally like TH can and does at the moment you won't see anybody cutting into their market share and releases will only grow, especially the "milk shake" releases

Thanks. Can I show up on a weekend and get growler fills without having to wait in a long line?

Sole is definitely trading nationally. They just don't have the variety and frequency of Tired Hands at the moment.

Another up and comer is Funk.

If you peep some of the comments on their instagram for can releases it's almost the same as TH's with a bunch of "ISO/FT" chatter. Not to say that is cutting into TH's share but they also release on different days. Maybe what I'm getting at is while they might not cut into the number of people at a TH release they are at least doing a good job of getting a line of people to buy their beer and sell it out within an a couple of hours.

Yes, there generally isn't lines for anything at Tired Hands outside of bottle and can releases. Speaking of which there is another can release this Sunday at noon but the lines are separate from growler fills. They also still have cans of their Trendler Pilsner and bottles of various saisons available without waiting as well.

I would definitely check out the lists for both the cafe and the fermentaria, they are within a couple minutes walking distance of each other and have different lists aside from their two staples HopHands and SaisonHands. Cafe I like better for lunch and snacks, Ferm is great for dinner, both spots are different and cool to check out.

    Very likely, yes.

I see, thanks for the link. I'm ready and waiting to try one of these when they start selling.

FYI - you'll need to buy their branded growlers. And prepare for sticker shock on the fills.
