Tired Hands (November 2016)

The amount of bitching about the time on their Instagram is great. Line should be minimal and everything will probably last until Monday depending on quantity.

 

I'm not optimistic about Punge lasting but the Alt will last days (never had it before so I will try it) and Hophands probably will too. Just because they bitch doesn't mean they won't line up.

I expected something bigger tbh but this is fine. Punge is my favorite TH DIPA and this might be the day to finally try using a chair to hold my spot in line and join em instead of beating em.

 

Why are people mad about the time?

 

Assuming it is what they had as the line taster on Wednesday, it is nothing like the pilsner. The alt is a darker, maltier style. Didn't care for it.

 

Or if you have a growler you don't care about, bring it in and they'll trade you one of theirs for free

I hope I'm able to get punge, I've never had it before.

 

Eagles game kicks off at 4. All the other sunday releases were at noon, feels like TH is daring people to line up all day and create hype.

Also it gets dark out at around 4:30.. They could at least bump the release time up to 4 with daylight savings in effect.

 

I have a feeling this is going to be the ultimate in chair lines, I can already picture a bunch of chairs getting dropped off before noon and being empty until just before 5.

 

I'm probably grasping at straws here (given that it's not directly nearby) but I wonder if the Philly Marathon being tomorrow morning had anything to do with pushing the release time back.

 

The melts about time are hilarious on here and IG. Grown men whining like a bunch of entitled babies. What happened to craft beer?

 

It became more popular, and like every large group of humans there are going to be entitled, selfish brats in the bunch. I don't think a vocal minority says anything about craft beer fans as a whole other than that the number of them has grown exponentially in the past 5 years which, in my mind at least, is a good thing for everyone (small complaints aside).

 

Guessing the late-Sunday release means we won't see a midweek (Weds) release this week then. Wonder if they'll go a whole week without any releases...or if they'll do something special for Black Friday.

 

No Wednesday release this week because of thanksgiving.... I would be be willing to say there is no way a Black Friday release. I am really hoping that soon production capacity will increase and we don't have to worry about what day and time these releases are.

Am I in the minority here of missing the simple days before the ferm and canning and just heading down to the cafe and hanging out with a cheese plate and bread....

 

And some candied bacon...which is now sold out every time I try to order it

 

Surprised they are canning another Trendler beer when there's still cans of OG Trendler hanging around.

 

I think a few pages back people were accusing them of "only being in it for the money" LOL

 

With all creative endeavors, there's the debate as to what extent you want to be a tastemaker, as opposed to just catering to what's in demand. They seem to be people who march to the beat of their own drum and with that probably comes a certain amount of "we like this beer, we want you to try this beer, so we're going to can this beer." There's something admirable about prioritizing your craft over just cashing in on what you know is going to fly off the proverbial shelves.

 

I think trendler is one of their best cans, there is so much more going on in that beer than in hop juice IMO. It is also very unique flavor wise for a pils. Heck if it's still around maybe I'll go for a short ride today.

 

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by the Trendler Pils. I would welcome that in my fridge any time. Definitely better than Prima Pils, but at basically double the price I'm not sure it's that much better.

 

Just checked the TH instagram. Pretty much 3/3. Crazy shit. That being said, I'm sitting this one out. The City is going to be a mess, Eagles, subzero winds...not happening. Chairs on chairs, too.
