It was when they announced milkshake cans...

    • tiredhandsbrewingTomorrow, at 5:00pm, at our @fermentaria we will be releasing cans of Peach Double Milkshake IPA and High Road! Peach Double Milkshake IPA is the natural extension of our precious Milkshake IPA series, which we dreamt up in tandem with our main dudes at @omnipollo. Brewed to 9.0% abv and conditioned on twice the amount of luscious fruit and vanilla beans. Contains lactose! =) $24/four pack. High Road is our Double IPA hopped intensely with Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, and Centennial. 8% abv. $18/four pack. Allotments will be announced ASAP tomorrow.
      .
ALSO, in preparation for next week's holiday/friend/family time, we will be holding a second can release this upcoming Sunday, November 20th. We will be releasing three cans: an old standby, a comforting friend from last year, and a very pungent riff on one of our favorite styles. Details will be announced later in the week. #dreambeer

YMMV, but damn, Punge is the real deal. Think I even prefer it to the Double Peach.

Gonna be going to PA (Danville area) from NYC for Thanksgiving. Was thinking of hitting up Tired Hands on my way back. Any other PA Breweries I should check out? Preferably brewing in the NE IPA style.

Hidden River is the main one that comes to mind. Might be a bit out of your way though.

Venturing in our area? Very cool.

Hidden River is a good suggestion, also Levante in West Chester PA is brewing a cloudy NE IPA called Cloudy & Cumbersome. I have not had it yet though. Also there is a small brewery in Emmaus called Funk. They are doing Project Haze beers that are cloudy, again I have not had any. Other than that I can't think of any other NE IPAs being poured around here. I'd growler up at Tired Hands......mulitple times.

From what I have heard they don't brew the NE ipa style but do some solid stuff at Selinsgrove out near where you are going to be. I have never been but every now and then I see random stuff from them pop up on best of lists, mainly for sours I think. Also I think they don't do anything to go, just growler fills.

I really wanted to be able to tell you to stop in La Cabra and I have been meaning to post a review in another thread but my takeaway right now as pretty much this: had great food, would have rather gone to Victory for the beer. Nothing bad just nothing really stood out, looking forward to his barrel program getting online. I love that there is another local brewery near me and I wish them all the best, but right now there are just so many other places to go to for something similar.

Does Pizza Boy disto up near there? I think they are trying to step their haze game up?

When I hold an unopened can it's very evident it has no carb — it's very squishy when squeezed. It's a bummer, as the last four or five I have are like this, and not great with no carbonation. A property filled can is not squishy to the touch, it's harder because of proper carbonation. I have some of the Trendler Alt and regular cans from yesterday, and they're very hard to the touch. These High Road cans aren't right...

    Don't forget Delaware:
    - no alcohol sales in grocery stores
    - Sunday sales limited to 12p - 8p

Have to admit this gave me a chuckle. The vibe at the table is always like the merch table at some metal show, just the guys in the band and their bestest of bros.

How does everyone feel about High Road? I like the mouthfeel a lot but I feel like the hop blend isn't for me, personally.

I only had one four-pack and wish I had more. Thought it was incredible - cantaloupe/honeydew/kiwi perfection. Liked it more than Space Needle or even Punge. Seriously! It had a balance that made it more crushable despite its abv and the sweetness that is in many of the TH beers was in check.

That would be quite the detour. Of those mentioned, Funk Brewing is the furthest North, just off I-78 near Allentown.

Grocery stores can sell beer in PA. Unless you're referring to them only being allowed to sell beer if said beer is sold at certain register/they have to have seating/offer meals...etc etc

What really needs changed is Wine & Spirits Stores being the only one to sell liquor as well as the Johnstown Flood Tax.

The Hidden River sample size is extremely small. Their most reviewed/rated beer has 4 reviews, with most having 1 or 0. Tired Hands has 810 beers with nearly 12,000 reviews/ratings. That 4.07 is very different than the 4.01 from Hidden River.
