It may have been a joke, it was a rumor that I heard in line, but could definitely imagine it. The front of the line was a ghost town for a while today.

Replying to my own question here...INTENSELY JUICY etc is really good. The best Tired Hands I've had, possibly.

i got the last of the technicolor and the collab at 7:13 and arrived at around 6:30... for record keeping and such.. line moved slow.... rumor was people with gift cards from mago returns slowed things down as they would basically need to do two transactions if the person was buying more value then was on the gift card.... can't win hahah

Line was the longest I've ever been in there. Got in at 5:15 and cashed out at about 7.
Had copycat on tap in the ferm afterwards. It's good, but nowhere near good enough to necessitate that line. Few friends said it was like a hophands extra or hophands v2. Whatever. I wanted technicolor and got it. I'm happy.

When you "ignore" someone here do they still see your posts?

I got there at 4:30 and got my full allotment at around 6pm. Definitely the longest line I've ever seen, but I've only been to a handful of the releases (including some of the milkshakes). It was stressful being that far back in line but there was still plenty by the time I got to the front. Even got some extra HopHands that made it to the bar. And on top of that bought a 4 pack of MagoTago on my way out from someone who was trying to get a refund. Drinking it right now. While I definitely understand the "bitter" and "green" comments, I love it. It's been years since I've had MagoTago so I can't really compare it to what I had back then but it's a solid 4.25/4.5 for me.

As for the Copy/Paste, it's good but not out of this world. I can see the HopHands Extra comments.

Wow, so exactly one week later it's still green...any brewers on here know if this means it'll never mellow out or is there still hope?

Anyone know if there was any Hop Hands left over? Trying to plan my afternoon accordingly...

Around 8pm last night I bought a 4 pack at the bar and there were three 4 packs still left on the floor and it looked like maybe 1 up on the shelf. I don't know if they had more hidden somewhere but my guess is they sold out.

As a homebrewer I can report that for my bottle conditioned beers that beers can indeed evolve (I am not sure if "mellow" is the proper term) with more time in the bottle. But the critical thing here is that the Tired Hands beers are unfiltered but not bottle conditioned. How unfiltered beers 'evolve' over time is something I am not well versed in.

I can report that last evening I drank a can of Tired Hands Negative Knuckle that was gifted to me. There are no visible dates on the bottom of the can but I think this beer was canned 15 weeks ago. That beer drank nicely but I suspect that the hop aroma/flavor was diminished as compared to if I drank it 14 weeks ago. I should caveat that this beer was continuously stored cold.

If you have cans of Mago Tago that you are further conditioning in the can perhaps storing them at room temperature would be 'better'? This would permit the yeast that is present in the can to help in the evolution process.

    Cheers!

I think you will be fine as the can is essentially the brite tank for now and those are kept pretty damn cold. I agree with the warmth effecting the yeast but I would think at this point it would be pretty minimal as it's not like fresh yeast was introduced for fermentation in the can. Again I have no insider information as to the Tired Hands process but just generally speaking. Can conditioning wouldn't ever really be a thing involving yeast though as those would just explode and anything left over is at this point just enhancing some flavor and hop components?

You can most certainly produce a can-conditioned beer. Sierra Nevada does that with their cans of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as a point of example.

    Cheers!

So I cracked a Mago last night, 8 day since purchase.

The aroma is incredible, you smell it literally the second you crack the can even from many feet away. Insane haze. First sip is wonderful, soft and all fruit. And then...it arrives. That bitterness. It isn't so much of a burn as people say but it's like...the bitterness of taking a huge bite from an orange rind, or like chewing on damp wood. You put the glass down. The bitterness continues to grow in your mouth, a delayed attack in the same manner that Thai spice builds slowly instead of all at once. You take another sip to sweeten the bitter flavor in your mouth. And then it gets worse! And so forth throughout the can. By the end it was just too bitter to enjoy, it overpowered everything.

Never experienced anything like it. I wonder what caused it? I'm going to give it another week but I'm probably going to return the rest of my cans for credit towards something better.
