Growler Filling Policy: "Please feel free to fill as many growlers as you would like. In Pennsylvania, each transaction must be limited to 192 fluid ounces. This means that upon receipt, if you would like to purchase more than 192 fluid ounces of our beer, you must leave the premises and then return to pick up additional beer (and then repeat the cycle if you’d like any more beer!).

We will also be opening up for 64 oz growler fills on MOST ALL BEERS. There will, of course, continue to be a few beers that we will not do any growler fills of (one-off kegs, anniversary beers, etc.), but this should be a rare occurrence.

We will continue to fill our branded glassware only, as we are STILL exceedingly proud to put our name on our Strange & Beautiful beer. If this is a very big issue for you, we will be happy to let you “trade-in” any growler for one of ours. Sound good?"

    Growler fill Prices
    64 oz:
    $20.00
    32 oz: $10.50
    Glass: $5.00

(prices vary occasionally for higher gravity / limited quantity beers)

The Cafe is now selling 32oz crowlers.

Anyone hit the beer garden over the weekend? If so, what did the tap list look like?

Heard from friends who went that the response was really good at the beer garden. Maybe a bit to good since by 8 on Saturday they were out of almost all the beer. I'm sure they will figure out the supply over the next few weeks.

Went Friday night to check it out. Nice spot, and wasn't overly crowded considering it was opening night. Overheard a couple people complaining about $9 for a plastic cup of DIPA, but felt the prices were on par with $6/8oz pours at the Ferm. Also, no dogs allowed, but there were plenty of children and strollers.

They were pouring into plastic cups? That's a no-no for me.

I am sure they would rather plastic cups then a courtyard full of broken glass.

High Harvest Biergarten Pro Tip: Dogs aren't allowed, which I found surprising given how many pet owners are seemingly always out and about in Fishtown.

It looked crowded when I walked by on Saturday afternoon, but I ended up going to Memphis Taproom instead because of the puppy I had with me. The hummus there definitely didn't disappoint, but I find it weird that Memphis is not on PTF given how their beer list is consistently one of the best in the area.

Germans don't seem to have issues with broken glass.

Their decision, but I’m not drinking TH beer from plastic. I went to Cold Springs Brewery in Cape May NJ this summer. They poured all their beers in plastic cups. I’ll never go back.

It's basically a pop-up beer garden in an empty lot, pouring beer from a refrigerated trailer (no running water, kitchen, etc.) The logistics of washing glasses would be ridiculous. Also, the cups they're using are "compostable" if that makes it any better. I like it for what it is, a nice place to sit outside and enjoy some Tired Hands beers without having to leave the city.

I realize it's a sanitary issue, but I'd still like for places to allow (or better yet, request) you to reuse disposable cups when grabbing a second beer. Train the staff to keep the cup from touching the taps, cut down on waste. Even if the waste is supposedly compostable.

Having been to a few beer gardens that are serving out of a trailer, glass is simply not practical. If you are that indignant at the thought of drinking a beer out of a plastic cup, than I guess this type of venue just isn't for you.

Since Chairgate has dwindled, I guess a Tired Hands thread needs some kind of controversy.
I figure if the people that brew the beer are ok serving it in plastic cups, then I'm ok drinking it from plastic cups.

Ah, ok I never know really what the situation was with it. Thought it was a facility with an outside beer garden. Still, given the facts I'm not liking the plastic. What I am liking is walking into the GS today and grabbing a four pack of Alien Church. Finally.

It's an outdoor beer garden in the city. None of them allow glass.

Responding to a post from the previous month, but I disagree here. I enjoyed both of them. Was actually kind of nice with the new yeast strain that set them apart from a lot of the other Tired Hands IPAs that have a sameness about them.
