If they’re releasing six cans, it’s possible a couple make it into that night. But probably not all of them. Sort of like the anniversary release.

Hope that surprise can is just a no nonsense BBA OV with MAYBE something like vanilla, chocolate, or coffee added.

I'm hoping I can sneak over during nap time after the lines have died down. None of the variants sound that appealing to me though? OG, Coffee for sure, the rest I think are a toss up, could be awesome, could be that I wanted just one can.

I still have a growler of it from 16'? sitting in my fridge. Going to revisit it at Christmas dinner.

Yeah I've been following those one off type check ins from Untappd to see who the other daring folks are.

I remember the growler line in void day was insane, and then it ended up being in tap for a long while after that.

Yeah that growler above was filled by a friend of mine since I had to go after getting cans. He waited another two hours to fill a couple of growlers.

Only Void is pretty good for a stout, although it's a little bit on the thin side. I have no idea why people go crazy for it.

There simply aren't many others in the area making hype-able stouts, so Tired Hands becomes the default.

This isn't a knock against OV; I agree that it's a little on the thin side but I really like the leathery, licorice flavors. It's almost like an amped up Euro-style stout. Understand why some others don't though.

This is going to sound all "back in my day" but I remember for what was it, the first anniversary of the cafe?, that only void was first released in 32oz growlers only. I remember that beer being thick as hell, fudge brownie, "earthy" and fantastic. I can't say any of the cans have really stood up to that initial run but some of the coffee variants have been great.

Anyone have the Imp Stout that Forest&Main released cans of last week?

Stickman's regular imperial stout (Loud Noises) is good stuff, and Breakfast for Dummies (bourbon, maple, vanilla, coffee, cinnamon) is top notch. Their Baltic Porter (Nuclear Option) is good too.

Everyone overlooks the larger breweries now - but Victory, Troegs, and Weyerbacher have long put out quality stouts, both regular and barrel aged.

I haven't tried that F&M stout but was super curious. I know imperial stouts aren't usually a focus of theirs, but they don't have many duds and have some really impressive beers now and then (Beyond Duality omg).

And to clarify, I think there are definitely some good local stouts (Troegs Impending Descent, SMS) just not many that are hyped... hence tons of people hitting up OV.

My interest was piqued too, as their lower abv English style stouts are very good.

Again, it's the whole scarcity marketing thing. Java Cask is another one that is great, but because you can buy it off the shelf, it gets discounted by some of the craft beer geeks.

It’s the instatorones that overlook the large breweries cause they dont know any better. I’ll throw a shout out to storm king.

I live 15 min from Troegs and I think they were charging $12 a bottle for Impending Descent at the brewery when I was there? For a 12 oz? Come on......

Weyerbachers Sunday Morning is fantastic for the price and availability

Storm king is a black IPA more than anything. Way too hoppy for the style
