Tired Hands (September 2016)

Got in line at 5. Just got to my car. Longest line I've seen. While walking back to my car the line was still across the street to the other parking lot corner across from the apartments.

 

Instagram saying sold out now. Took less than 2 hours.

 

Yeah, I was by the front of the line when they called it. Oh well -- that's the risk with those releases. Fingers crossed for next time.

 

What time did you get there?

 

They just made a cool 54,000$ in 2 hours, when put that way it is insane. I know I'm not taking into account cost to make but man, that is some insane money.

So it sounds like the last can was sold slightly before 7, based on the instagram posts. Incredible to think that they sold through more than 7,500 (Edit: actually 10,000) cans of beer in less than 2 hours. Wow!

 

It goes to show you the hype train has gained some cars... I just hope 5pm continues to be a safe time to get there without getting shut out..

 

I was in line about 4:25 and had cans in hand at 6. Full allotment for me of both. Can't wait to crack one open tonight watching football!

 

You must have been very close to me in line! I can't wait to open one too. Probably tomorrow for me though. Stupid early work.

Recently moved (back) to the area after living in Virginia for a while. Trading Veil lines for Tired Hands lines.

 

Gotcha. Was about to say, that would have truly sucked if you were all the way up here and got shut down.

 

Must have been. I started at the second parking lot up against the far brick building but not all the way down that alley, I was before that. I was right at a Jeep with no doors on (Jeep guy so that stuff sticks out to me).

Edit: it's freaking stupid good.

 

So how does it taste?

 

It's pretty sweet. If I read right, it's 9.7%. It's good, but Mango blows it away imo.

 

Incredible. I've only had the strawberry milkshake (a few weeks after release), and that one was fantastic... this is right up there. It's hard to believe it's almost 10% abv. It's worth the four hours I spent from the time I left work early until the time I got home.

 

Where is the ABV posted? If this is almost 10% that's crazy how drinkable it is.

Edit: The watermelon really only comes in at the end and it's still very subtle. I get a whole bunch of melon throughout but it's more honeydew. Awesome beer.

 

def nice that we could go inside, get some growlers and pours as we wait. it was hot out there.

 

Mango really blew me away too. Double Watermelon is great too though. It's not as red as I expected but the watermelon flavor is clear and it's easily the best watermelon beer I've had.

Untappd says 9.7% but it doesn't look like Tired Hands ever described the beers this week. With Double Mango I remember they posted the abv and the hops used (Mosaic iirc) but no info on Watermelon. It does not taste like 10% so the alcohol is hidden almost fully.
