Just wanted to give a heads up to my fellow BA's about this fine brewery. The first beer from them I had was a wonderful pale ale that is of amazing quality, perfectly brewed, and so delicious I doubt I have the words to recommend it well enough.

Today friends and I are going to crack a saison, and I am certain it will be equally as amazing. Sometimes one doesn't need to try all of a lineup to recognize true brewing genius, and let me tell you that Tired Hands is true brewing genius.

Basically this is just a post to let all know that if they can get some Tired Hands beer into their glasses, they will be very happy they did so.

Man, it is good to be a fine beer lover in America today! Cheers!

i went here for the first time last week - by far one of the more impressive local breweries i've been to lately. that hop hands pale ale is incredible, and i was in love with the mysterious mood saison.

Dave - which saison are you cracking? If it's the Single Hop Simcoe Saison, you are in for a treat. That beer is incredible.

It is Mystery Mood. It's in the fridge now and I'm psyched to open it. And the pale was Hop Hands, just a stupidly delicious beer.

Mysterious Mood is definitely stellar as well. I think you're going to enjoy that one!

The Hop Hands and Mysterious Mood are exactly what I sent Dave.

Dave....I'm glad you're enjoying them. I love that place. In a short time, I think I've probably had a dozen and a half wonderful beers there. The two I sent you are two of my favorites.

A couple people have asked me to pick up glasses for them after they've seen them...but I refuse to ship them. Nice glass, but...the stem is so thin, there's just no way I'd every put one in the mail.

Had the Singel Hop Saison: Simcoe this evening. Holy cow, it's very good. Now I'm looking forward to the other single hop in the series.

Is their beer easy to find in Philly or is it brewery only?

Retail1LO - I find it ironic that HF is you avatar and that you're being a great BA for Tired Hands... not only because Jean and Shaun have become good friends, but because I really think Tired Hands is almost as dialed into showcasing different hop qualities and unique saisons as HF is. Cheers indeed to you for helping others get beer from this fantastic place!

I'll be in Philly next month, maybe I'll make the trip out there, is it easy to get there via public transit?

It's right near a stop on the regional Paoli-Thorndale line. The train runs on a regular schedule from center city. The only impediment might be timing as during certain hours the train runs once an hour.

I'm going to be in Philly this weekend visiting family and want to take a trip to Tired Hands. Is it an appropriate environment to bring a 3 month old? She's been to lots of brewpubs/beer restaurants/other restaurants here in Northern Virginia but I don't like to bring her places where it would make the other customers uncomfortable. She's very well behaved (quiet for the most part and easily subdued when hungry or tired). Any guidance one way or the other? Thanks.

I think she'd be fine. The upstairs is quite large and the whole place is open and airy. And it's not fancy or anything.

I had my 3 month old there a couple weeks ago. The upstairs is pretty spacious so you will have no problems. Does not get particularly loud either. We actually sat at the bar (my little guy likes bars -- just kidding, that was my doing). Enjoy.
